The entire six-state New England area is ripe with a fast-paced hustle and bustle, and virtually no other section is fraught with heavy traffic more than Boston. Sadly, navigating the Boston roads can be detrimental with just a tiny amount of distraction. Of course, there are many ways to avoid distracted driving, not only in Boston but anywhere in the United States or the greater New England area, specifically. Nevertheless, we are not talking about simply putting the phone down, (although that is consistently the primary cause of distraction these days) but let’s dive a little deeper into the issue of distracted driving in Boston.

Car Crashes in to Patrice Newton-Vanleer, Pinning Her to a Building and Killing Her

A Brockton woman, was struck by a vehicle Saturday night, April 21, 2018 and killed. Her identity was recently confirmed as 32-year-old Patrice Newton-Vanleer by her family. The accident happened around 9:30 pm at the intersection of Legion Street and Main Street in Brockton.

Patrice was waiting at the intersection of Legion Street and Main street to safely get across the street which was directly in front of her apartments. As she waited, a car was driving towards her and went straight through the red light. The vehicle then struck another car and spiraled uncontrollably until it landed on the sidewalk where Patrice was standing.

Two People Injured After Crash in Holyoke on Route 5

A crash on Route 5 in Holyoke occurred Tuesday afternoon, April 25, 2018 at around 3:30 pm. A call was received stating that a pickup truck with two occupants had struck a tree near the intersection of Lincoln Street and Northampton Street.

Holyoke Fire Department responded to the scene to find the Nissan pickup truck had struck a tree hard enough to cause the two occupants to be stuck in the truck and unable to get themselves out. The firefighters had to use heavy-duty tools in order to free the passengers. They had to pull the top of the Nissan off using spreaders, rams, and ultimately hydraulic cutters in order to get one of the passengers out of the truck.

Patrice Vanleer Identified as Woman Killed by Car Pinning Her Against Building

The female victim of Sunday’s pedestrian car accident against a building has been identified as Patrice Vanleer.

Her husband exited their apartment to observe a car accident he had just heard, which occurred just a few feet from the building. He discovered that it was his wife that was injured in the crash. The vehicle pinned her against the building wall.

Patrice Valeer was 32-years-old and died at the hospital a day later, on Saturday April 22. The accident happened in Brockton at about 9 p.m.

Interstate 495 Crash Involving Horse Trailer Injures Two

Two individuals in separate motor vehicles sustained injuries in a three-car accident on the northbound side of Interstate 495. The accident occurred late this afternoon. The collision occurred south of exit 46, near the Route 110 and Interstate 495 connector.

The drivers were transported to Lawrence General Hospital.

Injury Reported in Lynn Motor Vehicle Accident

Today it was reported that a motor vehicle accident occurred in the city of Lynn on Monday morning.

The report states that the accident happened at Dungeon Avenue and Walnut, and injuries were sustained.

The accident occurred at 7:40 a.m.

There are no further details identifying the victims or the extent of injuries.

Three-Car Accident With Injuries in Saugus

Police logs out today indicate that three people were transported to local area hospitals after a three–car collision in Saugus.

The accident occurred on Sunday, April 22 at 8:48 p.m. near Kowloon Restaurant located at 948 Broadway.

One person was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Two people were taken to Melrose Wakefield Hospital.

No further details were provided by law enforcement.

Two-Car Accident with Injuries Reported in Saugus

In police logs released today, it was reported that a two–car accident happened on Monday, April 23.

The two-car collision resulted in injuries to two individuals who were transported to Melrose Wakefield Hospital.

The accident occurred at about 2:00 a.m. at Belden Bly Bridge on the Salem Turnpike.

Southborough Car Accident Victim Taken to Hospital

Police logs available today report that a motor vehicle accident happened on Monday, April 23.

The car accident happened at about 9:41 p.m.

Injuries were reported to the police, and the victims taken to the local hospital.

The accident occurred at Turnpike Road and Middle Road in Southborough.

No further details were released about the victims injuries or the extent of the injuries.

Lynn Murphy Jr Identified as Chilmark Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident

Police revealed today that Lynn Murphy Jr. was the 39-year-old Chilmark man in the fatal motorcycle crash yesterday evening.

Late Tuesday, April 24, he was declared dead at the scene. The motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision on North Road according to the Chilmark Police Department.

The crash scene was near North Road and Brickyard Road at about 7 p.m.

Murphy’s was traveling westbound on North Road, when it veered off the road running into a pole and trees.

The crash inquiry is underway. There is no further information at this time about whether another vehicle was involved.
