According to officials, on May 4, emergency personnel rescued people trapped in a collapse at the Edison Power Plant building in South Boston.

A spokesperson for the Boston Police Department said officers had been called to 776 Summer Street for a partial building collapse with “multiple people” trapped inside.

News reports showed Boston police, fire, and EMS personnel at the scene.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation recently reported that while there was 50% less Accident Reported in Carvertraffic on Massachusetts roadways in April 2020 there were still 28 fatalities. In April 2019 with twice the amount of traffic, there were 27 fatalities meaning the fatality rate doubled in April 2020.

Firefighters Rescue Woman and Child from Burning HomeEverett, MA (July 14, 2018) – A fire raging through a multi-family home unit on Friday left two firefighters and one resident with serious injuries.  Around 2:00 pm Friday, fire crews with the Everett Fire Department responded to a three-alarm fire at the complex, located at 13 Morris Street.  Many residents were fleeing the complex as firefighters arrived.   The fire had originated from the basement, but quickly engulfed the entire building as fire personnel worked to extinguish the flames.

A woman trapped inside the building was rescued from the second floor.  She was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries sustained in the fire.  Two firefighters suffered second and third degree burns in the rescue effort. One firefighter was treated and released later Friday while another remained hospitalized with serious injuries as of Saturday morning.

In total, 19 tenants were affected by the fire and have been displaced from their homes.  The American Red Cross is working with victims to help find temporary shelter.  Fire chief Tony Carli said they are investigating the cause of the fire.  At this time, it is believed that a faulty electrical panel is to blame.  Carli said that the department is looking into possible issues with building and fire codes which may have contributed to the fire occurring.

images-6Wellfleet, MA (July 14, 2018) – A serious crash is being reported on Route 6 in the Fresh Brook Area Saturday morning.  The crash was first reported just after 7:30 am. It is not clear what direction of the highway that the crash occurred.  The crash involves multiple vehicles, injuries and heavy damage.   First responders were on scene along with local police and fire officials who were working to clear the crash and steer oncoming traffic clear of the area.

This accident is an active scene and remains under investigation at this time.  No other information has been released, including the identify of any drivers involved the cause of the crash or whether the injuries sustained are life-threatening.  At this time, we have provided all details that we have.  Should further information regarding this crash become available we will share it with you.

Worcester, MA (July 14, 2018) – Police in Worcester, Massachusetts received a call on Thursday regarding  a hit and run in the 1 block of Loxwood Avenue.  Police quickly responded to the call, which came in around 6:00 pm.  Upon their arrival to the scene, officers were able to confirm that a crash had just occurred in the area.  One victim was left behind at the crash site suffering from injuries that were sustained in the collision.

Officers requested a medical unit to respond to the 1 block of Loxwood and administer medical treatment.   First aid was given by EMTs.  The other individual involved in the crash decided not to stay and speak with police as the driver quickly left the scene of the crash.  Police have been unable to locate this driver as of the time this story is reported.  The driver will almost certainly face charges when and if they are located.  There is no word on the severity of the injuries sustained in the crash or the identify of those involved.

images-1-3Worcester, MA (July 14, 2018) – Worcester Police were called to the scene of multiple injury accidents on Thursday evening, including one that took place in the 100 block of Moreland Street. The accident took place at around 7:00 pm.  Police on scene reported that multiple vehicles were involved in this accident.  Unfortunately, injuries were also associated with the crash, although the extent of injuries is not known at this time.

The police department investigation into this crash is still ongoing and there is no additional news to report regarding the identity of drivers or the cause of the crash.  We will bring you any additional information as it becomes available in the future.

images-1-6-300x158Boston, MA (July 14, 2018) – Police in Boston responded to a vehicle crash Thursday morning on Harrison Avenue.  A call was received around 5:50 am requesting police response to the scene for an accident involving injuries.  Boston police officer Thomas Antonino was quickly dispatched to the crash scene.  Officer Antonino arrived on Harrison Avenue and began a crash investigation.  He discovered at least one person suffering from injuries inflicted in the accident and called for EMS to respond as well.

The injured victim was evaluated and treated on scene.  No word on their condition or identity at this time.  The Boston police have marked this accident for additional investigation and have not released a cause for the crash.

Pedestrian Struck by Norwood HospitalBoston, MA (July 14, 2018) – A pedestrian in Boston was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday.  The pedestrian was struck while walking on  Clarkwood Street at 4:50 pm when they were hit by a car also traveling on the same roadway.  Police on scene report that the pedestrian was injured as a result of the collision but have not confirmed whether the pedestrian suffered any serious or life-threatening injuries.

Following the crash, the vehicle driver remained on scene and cooperated with the police investigation into the crash.   It is not known whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk or other marked area when the crash occurred or whether the vehicle driver will face charges for causing the accident.  Police are continuing to investigate this crash.  Should any additional information become available we will bring it to you.

Boston, MA (July 14, 2018) – An accident on Washington Street had Boston police busy Wednesday morning.  The call was received by police just after 8:00 am and referenced an accident with injuries occurring in the area.  As officers arrived, they confirmed the details of the call as they discovered a car accident with personal injuries.

Officers quickly blocked the area in an around the crash.  They began an investigation and took statements from witnesses while attempting to determine a cause for the collision.  As of this time, officers have not publicly released a statement regarding a cause of the crash.  The crash is still under investigation by the BPD.  The extent of injuries is not known at this time.

As police were working the accident scene, traffic slowed in the area around Washington Street.  Motorists had to be temporarily re-routed around the crash and some delays were reported in the area while the investigation remained active.  Traffic returned to normal after officers cleared the scene.

Vehicle Accident on Broadway in BostonBoston, MA (June 30, 2018) – Boston police responded to many car accident scenes on Wednesday.  One of the earliest calls came in to police at 7:26 am regarding a multiple car crash with injuries.  Police believe that the crash occurred just prior and that they received the a few minutes later.  Officer Patrick Abrahamson was working routine patrol on Wednesday morning and responded to the crash report.

Officer Abrahamson, along with fire and rescue personnel, discovered that one person was injured in the crash.  Medical treatment was offered and accepted on scene.  The extent of injuries is not currently known.  The accident investigation remains ongoing under Boston police case number 182054122.
