Update: Route 290 Crash

We have now learned that a Route 290 crash that happened in Worcester on May 8 was cleared about two hours later. The lanes were all open and the crash was cleared.

Route 290 Crash

Massachusetts State Police reported an accident on Route 290 going eastbound before Exit 16 in Worcester. The left and center lanes were closed because of the crash.

This happened on May 8.

2 Killed in Stoughton After Car Crashes into TreeOn May 8, a man and a woman died after their truck went off the road and hit a tree.

This incident occurred early on Tuesday evening in a violent crash on Plain Street in Stoughton.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene at around 5:15 and found a black GMC pick-up mangled against a tree.

Driver Dies in Chelmsford Crash
Police in Chelmsford are looking into a crash that happened late on Tuesday night. This accident caused the death of one person.

The incident took place on Main Street at around midnight.

One person was killed after he hit his car into a tree. The driver is reported to be 24-years-old.

Construction Worker Falls Four Floors in East Boston
On May 7, a construction worker suffered serious injuries after he fell off a four-story building. This happened in East Boston.

Authorities say they responded to the scene at around 12:30 in the afternoon on Monday. The man was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.

OSHA has been notified and is looking into the accident.

Update: Firefighters Injured in Building Fire
This is an update to a story we posted about last week.

At least 16 people were displaced as firefighters fought a blaze that engulfed three apartment buildings outside of Boston. This happened in Chelsea last Wednesday.

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Smoking Cause of Fatal Mobile Home Fire
A mobile house fire was said to be caused by smoking. This fire that occurred in Orange, Massachusetts took the life of an elderly woman as well as her two dogs.

It was announced that 79-year-old Jane Peterson died in the fire.

There were no working smoke detectors in the house at the time and clutter may have helped the fire spread more quickly.

Patrick Burns Dies in Car Accident in Cambridge
Patrick Burns from Lexington died on Sunday, May 6 at Mount Auburn Hospital after his car hit a pole and trapped him in his car. He was 24-years-old. This happened in Cambridge.

The Brighton Barracks of the Massachusetts State Police responded at around 4:20 in the morning. The crash happened at Sozio rotary on Concord Avenue.

EMS took burns to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

BFD Participates in Preparedness Drill

The Boston Fire Department participated in an Amtrak Emergency Preparedness Drill at the Back Bay Station. This happened on May 6. The drill simulated a response to an explosion.

 Police Identify Victims in Jamaica Plain
At around 9:40 in the evening on Friday, May 4, officers responded to shots fired at 277 Centre Street. They investigated the area and found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. Both of them were taken to area hospital. Both victims later succumbed to their injuries.

The victims have been identified as Christopher Joyce, 23, and Claborn Blair, 68.

Police are still investigating this incident.
