Barletta construction workers were on a job location at the East Street Bridge in Westwood on Sunday afternoon. An Westwood Construction Site Accidentemployee was seriously injured in an accident, details of which were not yet released by Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. The workers were altering the bridge over East Street on which the Franklin Commuter Rail Line runs.

Along with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, State Police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are looking into the incident.

A male driver on Quarry Street in Quincy, smashed into a home with such a severe impact that he had to be transported to Southshore Medical Center, on Sunday. He was driving downhill, and for unknown reasons the vehicle swerved off the pavement, initially colliding with a couple of vehicles in a driveway before hitting the house. Quincy car crash into home

Witnesses living nearby could see the aftermath of the collision, the truck protruding from the home. One witness noted that the driver was conscious immediately after the crash, but appeared confused. Several neighbors rushed to the scene. A neighbor of the home reported that this is not the first time a vehicle has crashed into that house, and not the first time that particular portion of the house was hit. The house was empty at the time of this accident.

Today, Hampden District Attorney representative James Leydon confirmed that the female who died in the train crossing on Memorial Drive just after 2 a.m. on Saturday was a Springfield resident named Kenisha ForbesSpringfield train crossing fatality

Further details establish that her Sport Utility Vehicle crashed into the rear of the train as it was barreling down the tracks.

The Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit of Hampden District Attorney’s Office, in conjunction with the Springfield Police Department are looking into how this could have occurred.

Late Saturday afternoon, Sergeant Andrew Hawley of the Russell Police force was parked off Route 20 close to Raymur Drive. Russell Police Car CrashHis blue lights were on and clearly visible.

It is unclear if he was inside his patrol car when a car going west crashed into it. The force caused the westbound car to land on its side leaning on the rear of the patrol unit. The police unit was crushed in the rear and the windows and lights were smashed.

Law enforcement has not released the exact crimes that the driver will face in court.

Reports out this morning indicate that a young man named Jeffrey Liao was involved in a car accident in the afternoon of April  14th. When Medford Police officers entered his vehicle they discovered several pounds of marijuana in various forms for sale.

The nearly 30-year-old man is from Sharon, and the accident occurred on Main Street in Medford. The car was removed by a flatbed truck. Officer Jason Montalbano stated that the illegal items found in the vehicle were clearly put together to be sold later.

A late night accident occurred on Saturday, April 14th on Carew Street in Springfield. A 66-year-old man Springfield Utility Pole Collision Injuryripped his Porsche into after running in two after colliding with a utility pole. It was well into the early morning hours of Sunday April 15th, when the road was cleared and he was transported with severe injuries.

The impact broke apart the utility pole as well. The Chicopee Police crash reconstruction team is evaluating the incident.

Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., the maker of the ladder that fell while in use by the Boston Fire Department while fighting a fire in Mattapan on Wednesday, has issued a response to the incident. The accident has not been fully looked into by authorities. The company states that initial investigations reveal this was an incident that has not occurred before with the 2005 reserve equipment.

The Wednesday evening fire started in a triple floor, multi-family dwelling on Duke Street. There was thick Mattapan Equipment Failuresmoke on the top floor when firefighters arrived on scene. The faulty equipment was part of Tower Ladder 10 where the ladder fell onto the home. The fireman in the bucket at the time descended a few feet, and risked severe injury if the ladder’s fall was not stopped by the home.

According to Boston Fire Commissioner Joseph Finn, their equipment is well maintained by the department. Prior to sending it out for service, no one noticed a problem with the ladder.
