downloadA bicyclist was seriously injured in an overnight crash.  The crash took place Friday evening in Northampton, Massachusetts. The Northampton Police were called to a scene at New South Street at approximately 1:00 am upon a report of a bicyclist striking a vehicle.  Officers responded along with members of the department’s accident reconstruction team.

While on scene, officers were able to determine that a vehicle was stopped at the stoplight in the intersection.  The bicyclist came up from behind and struck the vehicle.  Northampton Police Sargeant Greg Korepta says the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation.  At this time, no charges have been issued against the driver and it is unclear if any will be forthcoming.  The bicyclist’s condition was not immediately available.

Boston Dentist Faces Lawsuit from FirefighterA Friday morning rush hour crash caused significant headache for motorists traveling on I-495.  The crash, involving two vehicles took place on I-495 in Littleton Massachusetts around 8:00 am.  At that time, the Massachusetts State Police received word of the accident.  Officers responded to the scene.  There, they found the vehicles involved in the crash.

Officers began their investigation and found that the crash did cause injuries.  Fortunately, the injuries are described by police as “minor.”  The accident resulted in severe property damage to one of the vehicles involved.  The vehicle was disabled and had to be towed from the scene.  Significant delays were experienced by motorists around the area as traffic had to be re-routed around the accident scene for several minutes.

Mattapoisett Police Responder to Three-Vehicle CrashBoston Police received a call on Friday afternoon concerning an injury accident on Camden Street.  The call came in to police headquarters at approximately 3:30 pm.  Officer Moses-Jose Dasilva of the Boston Police Department was out on duty when the call was received.  Officer Dasilva was dispatched to the scene of the crash in order to investigate further.

Upon arrival, Officer Dasilva found that the accident involved injuries to at least one person.  The accident scene was quickly secured as Officer Dasilva called for medical assistance.  EMTs arrived and administered medical care on scene to the injured person.  The extent of injuries is unknown at this time, but there is no indication that the injuries are life-threatening.

download-1Police in Boston responded to a pedestrian vs. car accident on Friday afternoon.  The accident took place just prior to 4:00 pm.  Boston police officer Dennis Moore was on duty at the time and received the dispatch call.   Officer Moore quickly rushed to the scene.  Upon his arrival, he discovered a pedestrian in the roadway.  The pedestrian was suffering from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle.  It is not clear if the pedestrian was in a crosswalk when the collision occurred.

Officer Moore called for emergency medical assistance.  The pedestrian was treated for injuries on scene.  No further details are available regarding the pedestrian’s injuries at this time.  The driver and pedestrian were not immediately identified.  Officer Moore’s investigation of the crash remains ongoing at this time.  Neither the driver of the vehicle nor the pedestrian have been identified by police. Vehicle Accident on June StreetAn accident with injuries occurred on Friday morning in Boston.  The accident happened around 9:00 am in the 200 block of East Eighth Street.  Medical personnel and police responded to the scene of the crash.  One officer on scene, officer Eddy Pena, noted that injuries were sustained in the crash.  Officer Pena secured the scene and began his investigation of the collision.

The Boston Police department has not yet identified the individuals involved and there is no word at this on the amount of damage that was suffered in the crash.  The cause for the remains under investigation.   Traffic was backed up in the area while police were on scene but quickly resumed to normal flow after the scene was cleared.  If we receive any further information regarding this crash, including the condition of the injured individuals, we will update this story.

Update: Rollover Crash ClearedAuthorities responded to a two car crash on I-93 Friday morning.  Upon arrival, they located two vehicles off the left shoulder of the highway.   The crash occurred around 2:00 pm in the afternoon and caused traffic in the left lanes to be re-routed as authorities closed the road to investigate.  Traffic was backed up for a period of time in the direction of the accident while police remained on scene.

Following investigation, at least one driver was transported to the hospital as a result of the crash.  Police determined that the crash was caused due to a driver suffering from what was described as a medical condition, although there is no further word on what the actual medical condition is.  Neither of the drivers have been identified by authorities and the extent of injuries is unknown at this time.  Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

downloadA cement mixer and an SUV were involved in a crash on Friday night in West Barnstable.  The crash occurred on Route 6, just outside of Sandwich.  The force of the collision caused the cement mixer to leave the roadway and run down an embankment off the shoulder.  The SUV suffered heavy property damage in the collision and was undriveable.

Miraculously, despite the damage caused by the crash, only one person suffered injuries.  The person was transported to a Cape Cod area hospital and treated for minor injuries which are not considered life threatening.  Officials had to use a side road to remove the cement mixer from the embankment because it had fallen so far off the roadway.  The accident remains under investigation and neither the driver of the SUV nor the cement truck have been identified.  Authorities provided no other details regarding how the accident occurred or which driver could have potentially been at fault for causing the accident in the first place.

images-3A head-on crash in Brockton, Massachusetts sent to people to the hospital on Friday night.  Police responded to the call at approximately 9:00 pm.  Upon their arrival, they located two cars that had been involved in the crash.  One car has been identified only as a sedan and the other car appears to be an F150 pickup truck.  This accident caused very severe property damage in addition to the personal injuries that were suffered by those involved. The accident was so catastrophic that the driver of the sedan had to be cut out of the car through the roof by the jaws of life machine.

Both victims of this accident are suffering from serious injuries but there is no word on whether the injuries are considered to be life-threatening at this time. Certainly from the description of the accident given by authorities, we know that both victims will have a long road to recovery and are thoughts are with them as they remain in the hospital.  Police in Brockton are still investigating the crash and have released no information as to which vehicle crossed the center line.  The identities of those involved have also not been released.  If identities are later released, we will bring you further information.

Car Accident at Expressway NorthAn accident with reported injuries happened on Thursday afternoon in Boston.  At 2:56 pm, authorities responded to Adams Street in reference to a motor vehicle collision.  Officer Kenneth Gee with the Boston Police Department was one of the first officers to arrive on scene.  Officer Gee began his investigation of the accident and discovered that at least one person sustained injuries.  Medical treatment was administered to the injured victim, but no word currently on their condition.

The accident remains under police investigation.  The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
