download-3Saugus, MA (July 13, 2018) – Police in Saugus, Massachusetts responded to a crash with injuries along Route 1 on Thursday morning.   The accident occurred on Lynn Fells Parkway just after 8:00 am and involved multiple vehicles.  Authorities reported that injuries were sustained in this crash.  Medical personnel arrived on scene, along with police and fire officials.  The injured victims were provided with medical treatment for their injuries.  At this time, there is no information on the severity or extent of injuries suffered in the accident.

The southbound lanes of Route 1 experienced heavy delays leading to the accident scene as police worked on site to investigate the crash and clear the roadway for motorists.  Traffic was backed up for miles, all the way to nearby Lynnfield.  Officers remained at the scene for about an hour.  Residual delays were experienced after the crash was cleared.

The accident remains under investigation with Saugus Police on Friday morning.

download-4-4Brimfield, MA (July 13, 2018) – A driver is in critical condition following an accident in Brimfield on Thursday.  Police report that the crash occurred on East Hill Road Thursday afternoon.  Officers and rescue workers responded to the accident scene where they discovered a Dodge sports car had traveled off the road slammed into a tree.

Brimfield police and fire along with police and fire officials from nearby Warren all worked at the accident site to free the trapped Dodge driver, who has been identified only as a female.  The driver suffered critical, life-threatening injuries.  The patient was airlifted to UMass Memorial Hospital.  There is no additional word available on her condition at this time.

Police are still investigating the accident and have not yet determined a cause.

download-4-4Huntington, MA (July 12, 2018) – A serious crash on Route 112 in Huntington left two people injured Wednesday evening.  Just before 8:00 pm, a pickup truck was traveling on 112, near mile marker 6 when the driver lost control.  The car left the roadway, went through a guardrail, and crashed into a set of trees.  Massachusetts State Police responded to the crash.

State Police Sgt. Paul Sullivan said that the driver was pinned in the vehicle and that his passenger, a woman, also suffered injuries in the crash.  Both the male driver and female passenger were extricated from the truck and rushed to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. There is no word on the extent or severity of their injuries at this time.

The Massachusetts State Police are working with an accident reconstruction team in order to determine what may have caused the crash.  There is no further information available at this time.

Buildings-and-Intersection-300x200East Bridgewater, MA (July 12, 2018) – Police in East Bridgewater responded to a second accident in two days at the intersection of Plymouth and Washington Streets.  On Wednesday, officers were called to the location because of a crash between an SUV and a tractor trailer just before 9:00 am.  The SUV driver suffered injuries and was transported to a local hospital.  The tractor trailer driver escaped the crash uninjured.    Police have not released any additional details about the crash.

This site was the location of another accident that took place on Tuesday involving a dump truck and a passenger vehicles.  Some community leaders are now questioning the safety of the intersection.  Fire Chief Timothy Harwin and Police Chief Scott Allen both say they have been in contact with local town officials to explore solutions to the safety issues presented by the intersection.  They both say they have seen an increased number of crashes and injuries at this location and the two accidents this week have only furthered their concerns.

Vehicle Accident with Injury on Bowdoin StreetSaugus, MA (July 11, 2018) – A crash in Saugus, Massachusetts caused injuries and delays for travelers on the Tuesday afternoon commute.  Police first received a call around 4:00 pm regarding a crash in the northbound lanes of Route 1, near Essex Street.  The caller referenced possible injury and also requested that an ambulance respond the scene.

Police and emergency officials responded shortly after the call came in.  Upon arrival, they discovered an accident with injuries.  One person was treated on scene for their injuries.  It is not known if the person was transported to the hospital.  Officials have released on further word on the condition of the injured or the nature of injuries sustained.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.  Traffic in the area was snarled as a result of the accident with vehicles unable to pass by the accident scene while police cleared away the wreckage.

download-4-4Sandwich, MA (July 10, 2018) – A woman and two children were hurt in a crash in Sandwich early Tuesday.  Police report that the crash occurred around 12:52 am on Farmsville Road and Cotuit Road.  There, they say that a 40 year old woman from Cotuit ran off the road and struck a tree.  It is unclear why the woman ran off the road.

Two children in the car suffered serious injuries.  One child was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital with life-threatening injuries and a second child was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.  The woman was transported to South Shore Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.  She is currently listed in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.  No further information is available.

images-1-2Easthampton, MA (July 10, 2018) – A driver in Easthampton was sent to the hospital on Monday after driving his truck into a gas station.  The collision occurred Monday morning at 124 Northampton Street.  The driver was in the parking lot when he suddenly lost control of his truck and crashed through the front of the station, causing heavy damage to both the building and his truck.  Easthampton police were on scene in less than 30 seconds, according to department officials.

In addition, an ambulance unit responded to the station to assist the driver with injuries sustained in the crash.  The driver was given treatment on scene and later transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment of non life-threatening injuries.  Officials with the building inspector’s office came to the crash scene to evaluate damage to the building.  The gas station will be closed for an indefinite amount of time while the damage is repaired.  Authorities have released no additional details regarding this crash as of Tuesday morning.

admin-ajax-1-300x173Boston, MA (July 7, 2018) – A crash involving injuries was reported to the Boston Police Department on Friday morning around 3:30 am.  The accident took place on Gallivan Boulevard.  Officer Ryan Egan of the BPD was assigned to work this crash site.  Officer Egan confirmed in his report that there were injuries suffered in the crash.  Once he arrived on  the scene, Officer Egan requested an ambulance to respond in order to assess and treat the injured victims.

Boston Police have opened a file on this accident under complaint number 182052994.  A crash investigation was conducted as Officer Egan spoke to the drivers, took traffic measurements and reviewed the area for clues regarding the sequence of the crash.  We are still awaiting word on the exact nature of the injuries sustained as well as the cause of the crash.

Vehicle and Bus Crash on I-93Boston, MA (July 7, 2018) – Boston Police responded to the scene of a crash with injuries on Friday.   The crash call came to the department at 6:33 pm.  Officer Matthew Wyman was dispatched to the scene on Blue Hill Avenue.  The crash caused injury to those involved.  EMS provided medical treatment to the injured victims at the crash site while police worked the area to make sure traffic was able to pass through.

The wreck was cleared away quickly by officers on scene.  The injuries sustained were not life-threatening.  Police did not indicate the identity of the driver involved in this crash or the mechanism of the accident.  The identify of the drivers is also unknown.

Tractor-Trailer Accident on I-90Woburn, MA (July 6, 2018) – A rollover crash occurred Friday on Route 128 North in Woburn, Massachusetts.  Woburn police report that a landscaping truck was traveling on 128 pulling a bobcat machine on a trailer.  Suddenly, and for reasons unknown, the driver lost control of the truck.  The truck rolled over and the bobcat machine landed on the highway.

Fire and rescue officials, along with police, responded to the accident scene.  There were injuries reported in the crash but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.  Both lanes of Route 128 experienced significant delays as a result of the crash.  No additional information on this crash is available as of Friday evening.  Police are still working to determine a cause for the rollover.
