1099135_motorcycle_-_blur_focus-300x200Pittsfield, MA (July 13, 2018) – A motorcyclist from New Hampshire suffered serious injuries on Thursday after a collision with a pickup truck on Route 8, near Cheshire Road.  Pittsfield police have identified the motorcyclist as Cassius Bradford of Stamford, NH.  Bradford was traveling north on Route 8 around 1:30 pm when he encountered a Ford pickup truck attempting to make a left turn out of a local business.  The truck and motorcycle collided in the roadway.  The truck driver has been identified by police as 56 year old John Bailey of Cheshire.

An ambulance transported Bradford to Berkshire Medical Center with arm and leg injuries.  Although they are serious, Bradford’s injuries do not appear life-threatening according to police.  Officer David Hallas of the Berkshire Police Department investigated the crash along with the Pittsfield Police Department, Lanesborough Police Department and Massachusetts State Police.

Police are still investigating the crash and have asked for anyone with further information or who may have witnessed the crash to come forward in order to assist the investigation.

download-4-4Brimfield, MA (July 13, 2018) – A driver is in critical condition following an accident in Brimfield on Thursday.  Police report that the crash occurred on East Hill Road Thursday afternoon.  Officers and rescue workers responded to the accident scene where they discovered a Dodge sports car had traveled off the road slammed into a tree.

Brimfield police and fire along with police and fire officials from nearby Warren all worked at the accident site to free the trapped Dodge driver, who has been identified only as a female.  The driver suffered critical, life-threatening injuries.  The patient was airlifted to UMass Memorial Hospital.  There is no additional word available on her condition at this time.

Police are still investigating the accident and have not yet determined a cause.

Massachusetts I-95 crash injuriesMansfield, MA (July 12, 2018) – A rollover crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Mansfield.  The crash, which occurred just after 5:00 pm, took place on Interstate 495, near the interchange with highway 95.  The crash, involving two vehicles, left one vehicle rolled onto its side as a result of the impact.  Police and rescue workers responded to the scene to discover at least one person suffering from injuries caused by the crash.  The victims were transported to the hospital but there is no word at this time on their condition.

Traffic in the northbound lanes was at a standstill while police and others worked to investigate the crash and clear away the accident scene.  The accident is the subject of an ongoing investigation and no conclusion has been reached regarding the cause of the crash.  Police have not identified either of the drivers involved at this time.

IInjury Accident on Shrewsbury StreetSutton, MA (July 12, 2018) – A wrong way driver in Sutton, Massachusetts caused a crash with injuries on Wednesday afternoon.  The crash was reported to authorities in Sutton around 2:15 pm.  The car was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Route 146 at the time of the crash.  While traveling southbound, the car collided with another car coming northbound in the same lane, according to reports from the Massachusetts State Police.   The crash occurred near Colonial Road.

There were injuries sustained in this crash, although they are fortunately not considered life-threatening.  Both northbound lanes of Route 146 were closed shortly after the crash while police investigated.  They re-opened after 3:00 pm.

State Police are investigating the crash and what may have caused the driver to travel the wrong way down Route 146.  There is no word on any charges at this time.

images-1-2Easthampton, MA (July 10, 2018) – A driver in Easthampton was sent to the hospital on Monday after driving his truck into a gas station.  The collision occurred Monday morning at 124 Northampton Street.  The driver was in the parking lot when he suddenly lost control of his truck and crashed through the front of the station, causing heavy damage to both the building and his truck.  Easthampton police were on scene in less than 30 seconds, according to department officials.

In addition, an ambulance unit responded to the station to assist the driver with injuries sustained in the crash.  The driver was given treatment on scene and later transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment of non life-threatening injuries.  Officials with the building inspector’s office came to the crash scene to evaluate damage to the building.  The gas station will be closed for an indefinite amount of time while the damage is repaired.  Authorities have released no additional details regarding this crash as of Tuesday morning.

Pedestrian Accident on Bennington StreetWeymouth, MA (July 10, 2018) – An accident on Old Quarry Road in Weymouth resulted in injuries to at least one person Monday.  Weymouth police received a report of a motor vehicle accident just before 6:15 am.  Officer Stephen F. Malono responded to the crash scene to investigate.  Officer Malono arrived on scene and determined at least one person was in need of medical assistance.

A local ambulance quickly arrived on scene to treat the injured victim.  After receiving treatment on scene, the victim was transported to nearby South Shore Hospital for additional evaluation.  The Weymouth Police are still looking into what caused this accident and are considering a number of potential factors in their investigation.  No further information concerning the crash has been released at this time.

cars_on_highway-300x225North Attleborough, MA (July 9, 2018) – The week got off to a slow start for some motorists on I-95 on Monday morning.  A crash near North Attleborough in the northbound lanes had a heavy effect on traffic and also resulted in report of injuries.

The crash happened in the travel lanes of the highway just before 6:30 am.  Police and emergency workers responded to a call for a crash with injuries just after 6:30.  Upon arrival, at least one person received medical attention and was then transported to a local hospital for additional treatment.  The crash caused heavy delays in and around the accident scene for nearly an hour while police worked to clear away the wreckage.

Officers are still investigating the cause of the accident and have released no further details at this time.

download-3-4Sandwich, MA (July 8, 2018) – Four people suffered injuries in a two car collision Saturday evening in Sandwich, Massachusetts.  Police say that, just before 8:00 pm, two vehicles were traveling on Route 6A at Spring Hill Road when they collided with one another.  One of the involved vehicles then struck a utility pole.

Sandwich police, along with fire and rescue units responded to the crash scene to investigate and assist the injured victims.  One person had to be extricated from a wrecked vehicle.  In total, four people were transported to a nearby hospital for injuries suffered in the crash.  At this time, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Sandwich police are still investigating this crash.   Delays were present in the area while workers attempted to repair the damaged utility pole.  No other information regarding this crash is currently available.

download-3-1Hatfield, MA (July 7, 2018) – A Massachusetts State Trooper suffered injuries after crashing his cruiser early this morning on Route 91 in Hatfield.  The Trooper was responding to a call for a disabled motor vehicle  at approximately 1:30 a.m. when a deer darted in front of his police vehicle.  The Trooper swerved to avoid the deer, but struck a guardrail instead.  His vehicle then went over the side of the guardrail before coming to rest.

After the crash, the Trooper’s car became engulfed in flames.  A second Trooper was luckily in the area and was able to pull the Trooper out before the accident became catastrophic. Hatfield and Northampton Firefighters responded to extinguish the car fire and provided medical aid along with EMS.

The injured Trooper, whose name has not been released, was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton and was later transferred to Bay State Medical Center for further treatment.  He has since been released from the hospital as of Saturday morning.

Accident on Washington StreetBoston, MA (July 6, 2018) – Police in Boston responded to a vehicle crash early Thursday morning on River Street.  A call came into the Boston Police dispatch line around 4:30 am.  The caller requested a police response to the scene for an accident involving injuries.  Boston police officer Frank Lee was quickly dispatched to the accident site.  Officer Lee arrived on River Street and began his investigation into the accident.  He discovered at least one person suffering from injuries on scene.  Officer Lee called for EMS to respond as well.

The injured victim was evaluated and treated on site.  There is no word on their condition or identity at this time.  The Boston police are conducting additional investigation and have not released a cause for the crash.
