Stoughton Police Looking for Vehicle Seen Driving Away from CrashLowell, MA (July 7, 2018) – A hit and run victim in Lowell who suffered serious injuries in a crash earlier this week has been identified.  On Tuesday, a woman was riding a motorized scooter along Middlesex Street around 10:00 pm when she was struck by a dark colored Mercury Sable passing through the area.  The Mercury Sable fled the scene immediately after the crash.

The injured victim is 46 year old Donna Bettencourt of Lowell.   Bettencourt sustained very serious injuries including a broken pelvis and a nearly severed leg.  Doctors are still considering amputation if her leg does not respond to additional treatment.

Police are still searching for the hit and run driver.  On Friday, they released images of the suspect vehicle but have yet to make any arrests.

Two Hit-and-Run Accidents in Danvers on ThursdayBoston, MA (July 6, 2018) – At least two hit and run accidents happened across Boston in the last 24 hours.  This is certainly not a trend that anyone hopes will continue for the upcoming weekend.

This accident occurred Thursday just after 1:00 am at 601 Park Street.  This time, BPD officer Karissa Scano received a call for a reported accident with injuries.   Officer Scano responded to Park Street within a matter of minutes.  She discovered a hit and run collision upon her arrival on scene.   Officer Scano quickly observed that the driver was injured in the hit and run and called for medical treatment.

EMS personnel administered medical care to the injured victim while Officer Scano conducted a traffic investigation.  Officers canvassed the area for signs of the hit and run vehicle but were met with negative results.  As of Friday morning, the search continues.  The vehicle is expected to have some type of damage, possibly to its front end.

bicyclecrossingsign-300x225Quincy, MA (July 5, 2018) – A bicyclist in Quincy, Massachusetts suffered serious injuries after being struck by a hit and run driver on July 4th.  The collision occurred on Whitwell and Deldorf Streets around 8:20 pm Wednesday.  The bicyclist is identified by police as a 61 year old man.  He was struck by a vehicle operated by 39 year old Paul Mignosa of Quincy.

Mignosa fled the scene after the collision but was located by police a short distance away.  He was charged with hit and run, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and OUI causing serious injury.  Mignosa was arrested and taken into police custody.

The 61 year old bicyclist, whose name was not released, was transported to a hospital with serious head and leg injuries according to Quincy police.  No further word on the man’s condition is available as of Thursday evening.

download-4-1Worcester, MA (July 5, 2018) – There were a lot of fireworks in Worcester for the July 4th holiday.  Unfortunately, not all of these fireworks were the kind that people want to see.

A hit and run crash with injury was reported to Worcester police around 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 4th.  The crash happened in the 1 block of Maywood Street involving two vehicles of an unknown description.  Officers are actively searching for the hit and run driver but had been unable to locate them as of Thursday morning.

One person did receive injuries in the hit and run crash.  The nature of the injuries and the extent of those injuries have not been available.  Criminal charges against the other driver are pending at this time.  This accident remains under investigation.

Vehicle Accident on Harvard StreetWorcester, MA (July 5, 2018) – The holiday got off to a less than desirable start in Worcester, Massachusetts on Wednesday.  Around 6:00 am, police received reports of a hit and run on Olde Millbury Street.

The accident, involving two vehicles, was investigated by patrol officers.  Upon their arrival, officers confirmed that an accident had just taken place and that one vehicle left the scene before police could speak with the driver.  The other driver remained at the scene and explained that a vehicle had hit them and then fled.  One person was treated on scene for unknown injuries while police worked to complete their traffic investigation.

There is no word on the extent of injuries at this time.  Worcester police are still searching for the hit and run driver and are encouraging members of the public to come forward with any information they may have.

images-6Lowell, MA (July 4, 2018) – A woman riding a scooter in Lowell, Massachusetts was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Tuesday night.  The woman was riding on Middlesex Street near the corner of West Aldea Street around 10:00 when she was struck by an SUV passing through the area.  The SUV driver fled the scene immediately after the crash and before police could arrive on the scene.

The injured woman was airlifted to a Boston hospital with serious injuries, according to Lowell Police Captain Paul LaFerriere.  It is unknown whether her injuries are life-threatening as of Wednesday morning.  The intersection of Middlesex and West Aldea was closed for nearly two hours while police investigated the crash.  Emergency broadcasts just after the collision indicated that the SUV had heavy front end damage.

Police are still searching for the hit and run driver and their investigation into the crash remains ongoing.  No other information is available at this time.

Accident Involving Police Vehicle on Causeway StreetWorcester, MA (July 2, 2018) – A hit and run in Worcester left at least one person injured on Sunday.  Police responded to a call for a hit and run accident with injuries in the 100 block of Grafton Street around 12:00 pm on Sunday July 1st.  Upon their arrival, police located one person who was involved in this crash.  The person had sustained injuries in the collision, although the extent of injuries is currently unknown.  After a thorough search, officers were unable to locate the other driver involved.

Worcester police continue to investigate the hit and run under department case number 2018000071833.  Charges are pending against the driver when they are located.  The identity of the injured victim was not immediately made available by police.

download-4-1Boston, MA (June 30, 2018) – Police in Boston responded to two hit and run injury accidents in Boston Friday.  One accident, which we previously reported, occurred on Columbia Street.  The second accident happened around 10:00 pm on Bipsham Street.  Officer Vladimir Levhichev responded to the scene.  This crash involved two vehicles.  Injuries were sustained in the accident but they are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

Officer Levichev looked for the hit and run suspect but they were not able to be located in the immediate aftermath of the crash.  The accident remains under further investigation by the Boston Police Department.  No additional details surrounding the accident have been released by police.

Accident Involving Police Vehicle on Causeway StreetBoston, MA (June 30, 2018) – Boston police were called to the scene of a hit and run on Friday.  The crash originally took place on Columbia Road at approximately 1:30 pm.  Police received a call around that time regarding a possible accident with injuries and responded to the scene.  Upon arrival, one vehicle was located along with a person suffering from injuries sustained in the crash.  Officers were unable to locate the other vehicle.  Upon speaking with witnesses, it was determined that the other car left the scene prior to police arrival.

The area was searched, however, the other driver could not be located.  It is expected that they will face charges for leaving the scene of an injury accident.  There is no word on the condition of the injured victim or their identity.  The Boston Police Department is still investigating the crash.

Accident on Route 3Worcester police were called to the scene of a hit and run accident on Alpine Street on Sunday morning.  The accident, involving two vehicles, was reported, to officials at around 2:00 am.  Officers responded to the crash site and found one vehicle present, while the other left the scene prior to arrival.  The hit and run driver was not immediately apprehended.

The other driver was injured in the hit and run but their injuries are not specified at this time.  Charges are expected to be filed by Worcester police against the other driver for leaving the scene of a crash.  Police did not give any details on the nature of injuries sustained or the identity of the victim or suspect in this case.  The crash is still under investigation as of Monday morning.
