Vehicle Accident with Injury on Bowdoin StreetBoston, MA (July 13, 2018) – At least six people were hurt Friday when a school bus and several cars were involved in an accident in the Ted Williams Tunnel.  Troopers with the Massachusetts State Police responded to the westbound lanes of the tunnel in reference to a report of an accident involving several vehicles.  There is no definitive word on the exact number of vehicles involved in the accident.

Several people were taken to area hospitals with injuries.  The injuries ranged in nature from minor to serious.  It is not clear whether any life-threatening injuries were suffered.  Officials confirmed that no one on the school bus was injured.  The westbound lanes of the Tunnel were closed while police investigated the crash.   Police have not released any additional details regarding the crash at this time.

download-3-4Wareham, MA (July 5, 2018) – A Thursday morning rollover crash left three men in Wareham, Massachusetts seriously injured.  The crash happened at approximately 9:38 am in the southbound lanes of Interstate 495.  The men, who were all traveling in a pickup truck, were transported to nearby hospitals.  One of the men has sustained life-threatening injuries while the other two sustained serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The truck ended up off the side of the roadway and eventually struck a tree before coming to rest. It then caught fire with the men still inside.  The Jaws of Life were used to eventually extricate all three men from the truck.  The Wareham Police, Middleboro Police and Massachusetts State Police all responded to the crash and assisted with the subsequent investigation.  Traffic was snarled around the accident scene for a substantial time as police investigated the crash.

images-2Harwich, MA (July 2, 2018) – An off-road weekend adventure turned to tragedy for an ATV rider in Harwich, Massachusetts.  Harwich police, fire and rescue officials were called to the scene of an accident at Jay Z Drive around 3:00 pm on Sunday.  The call was in reference to an ATV which had flipped over, causing serious injuries to at least one of the occupants.

The Massachusetts Enviornmental Police rushed to the scene shortly after receiving the call.  There, they found an ATV occupied by a driver and one passenger.  Neither the driver nor passenger were wearing helmets.  Police were able to locate a man who was injured in the crash.  The man was breathing but unconscious.   He was tended to on scene before being transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries to his upper torso.  No further word is immediately available on his condition.  The other person in the ATV, a female, was not injured.  Police have not said what caused the accident to occur.

download-4-1Haverhill, MA (July 1, 2018) – A head-on collision in Haverhill Massachusetts this weekend resulted in injuries to two people.   The crash took place at River Road and View Streets.  Haverhill police say that a 62 year old resident of Malden, Massachusetts and a 63 year old resident of Newton, New Hampshire were involved in this crash.  Police did not reveal which driver was responsible for causing the crash.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment after the accident.  The 62 year old is listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries while the 63 year old sustained only minor injuries.  The crash remains under investigation according to Haverhill police captain Steven Doherty.  As of Saturday evening, no charges had been filed in connection with the accident.

download-5-1Hyannis, MA (June 28, 2018) – A pedestrian had to be rushed to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Hyannis, Masachusetts on Thursday.  The pedestrian was struck at the intersection of South Street and High School Road at around 4:00 pm.  Barnstable police received a call about the accident and responded to the scene.  Officers quickly realized that the accident involved serious injuries and summoned a rescue squad to the crash site.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was rushed to nearby Cape Cod Hospital with head and chest trauma.  Barnstable Police are investigating the crash.  There is no word on the current condition of the pedestrian. The pedestrian has not been identified by police.  Police have not released any further information on the crash or whether they intend to charge the driver for their role in the collision.

download-3-4Fairhaven, MA (June 27, 2018) – A serious multi vehicle collision occurred in Fairhaven, Massachusetts on Tuesday.  The crash took place along Route 2, near Bridge Street around just before 1:00 pm.  At that time, a motorist pulling a boat trailer pulled over on the side of the road to fix his trailer hitch.  Simultaneously, another motorist made an evasive maneuver to get around traffic on the same stretch of road.  However, the motorist failed to see the man who was off the roadway and struck the back of the trailer, pushing it directly into the man.  A minivan was also involved in the collision and was forced down an embankment off the shoulder of the roadway.

Serious injuries were reported in the crash.  One person was airlifted to Boston hospital.  The other two victims suffered minor injuries and were transported to two separate local hospitals.  There is no word on whether the airlifted victim has life-threatening injuries. Police did not immediately identify the drivers or determine whether any charges would be issued.  Route 240 was closed for several hours while the investigation remained ongoing.

Serious Injury Crash

images-1-7Two pickup trucks collided with each other Saturday night in Tewksbury, Massachusetts leaving one driver with serious injuries.  The collision occurred around 8:30 pm at the intersection of Old Stagecoach Road and Shawshen Street.  The two trucks involved have been identified as a Ford F-150 and a Ford F-250.

A witness, Phil Marotta, who lives near the accident scene says he believes that the F-250 was traveling the wrong way down a one way street when it collided with the F-150.  Marotta said the collision was so loud that it shook his house.  Tewksbury police would not independently verify Marotta’s observations, saying only that the crash remained under further investigation Saturday night.

Tewksbury firefighters had to cut the top off of the F-150 in order to extricate the driver.  The F-150 driver, who has not been identified at this time, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries.  The F-250 driver was also transported to the hospital, although there is no word on their current condition.  Police have not said whether they expect to issues charges as a result of this crash.

Saugus car accident head injuryA two vehicle crash in Newbury, Massachusetts resulted in serious injuries to two drivers on Saturday afternoon.  Newbury police and fire officials received a call for assistance just after 4:00 pm regarding an accident at 101 High Road.  Officials rushed to the scene of the accident to survey the damage.  Upon their arrival, they discovered a collision between a Fiat 500 and Chevrolet Impala.  Both vehicles sustained front end damage in the crash which indicated that the collision was head-on in nature.

An ambulance was called to the scene by the responding officers.  The drivers were tended to on the scene.  However, their injuries were serious enough to require hospitalization.  The ambulance transported both drivers to a nearby hospital to receive additional treatment.  There is no word at this time on their conditions, except for what was reported at the accident scene.  The crash remains under investigation by Newbury police and there is no indication on whether either driver will be charged in the crash.  The drivers were not identified.

Cataldo Ambulance UpdateA crash with reported serious injuries occurred in Mansfield, Massachusetts on Tuesday morning.  The crash was initially called in to the Mansfield Fire Department at 11:23 am.  Both fire and police officials responded to the scene of the crash shortly after the dispatch call was taken.  The crash took place at the intersection of Route 106 and Copeland Drive.

The crash was so severe that the Jaws of Life had to be used to remove injured victims from their cars.  The crash involved two vehicles, though no details were provided on how it occurred.  One of the injured victims was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital while the other was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.  Although the injuries are described a serious, police do not believe they are life-threatening.  The road remained for about 30 minutes while police investigated.  Shortly after noon, it was re-opened for motorists.  The crash remains under investigation.

Accident with Injury on Exit 1 on Route 95A crash with injuries was reported to police in Rockland, Massachusetts this morning.  The crash happened on Route 3, southbound at exit 14.  Rockland Police quickly arrived on scene after receiving reports of the accident.  Officers secured the accident scene.  Traffic was backed up while the investigation was ongoing and also while medical personnel at the scene tended to the injured victims.

This crash was one of several rush hour crashes that occurred on Massachusetts streets and highways Monday morning.  It does not appear at this time that any of the injuries sustained in this crash were life-threatening.  After the investigation was completed, traffic on Route 3 began moving at a normal rate.
