Pedestrian Accident on Fan Pier Boulevard Injures OneHyannis, MA (June 28, 2018) – A man was struck by a car outside a grocery store in Hyannis, Massachusetts on Thursday.  The incident took place just after 4:00 pm at BJ’s Wholesale Club according to Barnstable Fire Captain Richard Ogonowsky.   Police and fire officials arrived on scene and found the man in the parking lot.   He was transported to Cape Cod Hospital.  There is no word on his condition but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police did not immediately release additional information.  The cause of the accident is under review.  No charges were filed against the driver in the aftermath of the crash but police have not said whether they intend to issue charges at a later date.

1118296_crosswalk-300x199Cambridge, MA (June 28, 2018) – A pedestrian in Cambridge, Massachusetts was injured on Wedensday while walking at the intersection of Vassar Street and Amesbury Street.  Cambridge police were told that the accident occurred just before 6:00 pm when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.  Police responded to the scene and spoke with both the pedestrian and the driver of the vehicle.  The pedestrian and driver cooperated with the police investigation into the accident.  It is not known at this time what caused the crash to occur.  Police did not immediately charge either party in association with the crash.

The pedestrian suffered injuries as a result of the accident.  Fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening and the pedestrian was treated on scene.  Neither the pedestrian nor the driver have been identified by Cambridge police.

download-5-1Worcester, MA (June 26, 2018) – A pedestrian was hurt in a motor vehicle collision in Worcester on Monday, June 25th.  Police report that a pedestrian was walking in the 1 block of Waverly Street on Monday morning at approximately 10:00 am.  At that time, a vehicle traveling on Waverly struck the pedestrian.  The crash resulted in injuries to the pedestrian.

Worcester police were called to the scene to investigate the accident.  They have not released any information and the investigation is ongoing at this time.  Police are expected to consider the location of the accident, such as whether the pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk, whether the car properly yielded to the pedestrian and whether there were any witnesses to the crash.  All of these factors will be crucial in the police investigation and, ultimately, the legal responsibility for those involved in the accident.  There is no word at this time on whether charges will be issued.

images-4-2Plymouth, MA (June 25, 2018) – A teen was struck while walking at a crosswalk in downtown Plymouth, Massachusetts on Monday afternoon.  The boy was walking at Main Street near Middle Street in a marked crosswalk area when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.  Plymouth police officers and emergency medical officials quickly arrived at the scene to tend to the 16 year old victim and treat his injuries.

The injuries sustained by the victim are not considered life-threatening, according to authorities. The boy was transported to South Shore Hospital to receive treatment.  Police report that the boy was wearing earbuds when he was struck in the crosswalk.  However, officers did the charge the motor vehicle operator, a 61 year old man from Plymouth, with failure to yield to a pedestrian.  No further information was released.

download-1A pedestrian suffered injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Boston at around 3:30 pm Friday afternoon. The pedestrian was walking on Opera Place when they were hit by a car traveling in the area.  Boston police officer Peter Papasso responded to Opera Place and conducted an investigation on site.

Officer Papasso interviewed both the pedestrian and the vehicle operator in an effort to determine responsibility for the crash.  As of now, Boston police have not revealed whether the driver was charged in the pedestrian accident.  The pedestrian’s accident required medical treatment and emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene.  Police have not provided further information regarding the injuries suffered by this pedestrian.

Woman Struck by Vehicle in WorcesterThe Cambridge Police Department responded to a call for assistance on Tuesday evening regarding a pedestrian incident.   The call came in to police at around 8:00 pm and is recorded as Cambridge Police incident number 18004073.   Cambridge police officers quickly responded to Cedar Street, the location of the call.  When they arrived on scene, they discovered that a pedestrian walking in the roadway had been struck by a car.  The pedestrian sustained injuries in the accident, however, the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Both the driver of the car and the pedestrian remained on scene and assisted Cambridge police with their investigation.   The accident is still under review at this time.  As of now, police have not issued any charges in connection with the incident and have not indicated whether anyone will be charged at a later date.  The driver and pedestrian were not identified.

Massachusetts Pedestrian Accidents

download-1A pedestrian was hurt in an accident which occurred on Monday in Boston.  A call came in to the Boston Police Department just before 7:00 am regarding a pedestrian accident with injuries.  Upon receiving word of the crash, dispatchers immediately sent a Boston Police officer to the scene to investigate.   Officer Eliot Telisnder handled this particular crash investigation on behalf of the department.

When he got to the scene at Dartmouth Street, Officer Telisnor encountered a pedestrian that had been injured while walking in the roadway.  The pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle and injured in the process.  The driver of the vehicle remained on scene to cooperate with police investigation.  The injured pedestrian was treated at the scene by EMTs.  Police have not indicated that the driver will be charged, however, it is unclear exactly what happened to cause this pedestrian accident.  Neither the pedestrian or the driver have been identified at this time.

download-1Police in Boston responded to a pedestrian vs. car accident on Friday afternoon.  The accident took place just prior to 4:00 pm.  Boston police officer Dennis Moore was on duty at the time and received the dispatch call.   Officer Moore quickly rushed to the scene.  Upon his arrival, he discovered a pedestrian in the roadway.  The pedestrian was suffering from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle.  It is not clear if the pedestrian was in a crosswalk when the collision occurred.

Officer Moore called for emergency medical assistance.  The pedestrian was treated for injuries on scene.  No further details are available regarding the pedestrian’s injuries at this time.  The driver and pedestrian were not immediately identified.  Officer Moore’s investigation of the crash remains ongoing at this time.  Neither the driver of the vehicle nor the pedestrian have been identified by police. images-2Boston Police responded to a pedestrian injury accident on Thursday morning.  The accident happened at around 10:00 am at 3035 E. Washington Street.  That is where police received a report that a motor vehicle struck a pedestrian in the roadway.  Boston Police Officer Brendan Wheeler handled the call for help.

While we know that the pedestrian was injured, the extent of the injuries remains unknown at this time.   Neither the driver of the vehicle nor the pedestrian have been identified.  The accident remains currently under further investigation.
