Stoughton Police Looking for Vehicle Seen Driving Away from CrashSalem, MA (July 14, 2018) –  A two car hit and run accident took place in Salem, Massachusetts on Friday and resulted in injuries to at least one driver.  The accident happened at 1:57 pm in the 400 block of Highland Avenue. Salem Police responded to the scene and began investigating the crash.

When police arrived, they discovered a two car crash had just occurred at this location. Unfortunately, only one of the drivers remained on scene to speak with police and assist in their investigation as the other driver quickly fled the scene of the collision prior to officers’ arrival.   Salem police have not said how the accident occurred, or which driver was at fault for the crash.  One person was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.  No word at this time on the identity of the drivers at this time.  The accident is pending further investigation and charges are expected to be filed once the hit and run driver can be apprehended.

983414_bicycle_path-224x300Salem, MA (July 12, 2018) – A boy crossing the street on his bicycle was struck by a vehicle in Salem on Wednesday.  The collision occurred just before 5:30 pm on Lafayette and Laurel Streets.  The boy, identified only as a 14 year old, was riding his bicycle in a crosswalk at the intersection.  He was about three quarters of the way through the intersection when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Police and an ambulance unit responded to the crash scene to render first aid to the boy.  He suffered what is being described as a non-critical leg injury and was transported to North Shore Children’s Hospital for treatment.  The driver of the vehicle did remain on scene to speak with police.  Officers have charged the driver with failing to yield for a pedestrian.

Plymouth House Fire Injures OneSalem, MA (July 12, 2018) – A driver in Salem, Massachusetts sustained injuries in a crash Wednesday. The crash occurred at 7:00 am  in the 1000 block of Loring Street.  Police say two vehicles collided with one another for unknown reasons.  The force of the collision caused the airbags in one of the vehicles to be deployed.

Police discovered that one driver was injured in the crash and requested that an ambulance also respond to the crash.  The injured victim accepted medical treatment.  It is not known at this time whether the victim was also transported to the hospital for additional attention.  This accident remains under investigation with no cause immediately given by Salem police.

Accident on Route 95 at Exit 8Salem, MA (July 11, 2018) – A two car accident in Salem, Massachusetts on Monday resulted in injuries to at least one driver.  The accident happened at 192 Marlborough Road at approximately 4:00.  Salem Police responded to the scene and began investigating the crash.

Fire and EMS units also responded to the accident.  One person suffered injuries.  The person was treated on scene before being transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.  Salem Police are still investigating this crash and how it occurred. No word at this time on the identity of the drivers or whether charges will be filed.  The accident is pending further investigation.

images-1Salem, MA (July 11, 2018) – Salem police responded to reports of an injury crash at 126 Boston Street on Tuesday.  Police were initially called to the scene at 2:55 pm for a crash that had occurred just moments earlier at this location.  Officers discovered that two cars were involved in the crash.   The force of the collision caused an airbag deployment in one of the vehicles.

Personal injuries were reported in this crash.   As of Wednesday morning, the nature and extent of the injuries are not known.  Police have also not revealed how the crash may have occurred or which driver was at fault.  The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Salem Police Department.

download-1-2Salem, MA (June 27, 2018) – A two car accident in Salem, Massachusetts on Tuesday resulted in injuries to at least one driver.  The accident happened at 6:05 am on Interstate 95, near exit 47.  Massachusetts State Police responded to the scene and began investigating the crash.

When police arrived, they discovered a two car crash involving a 2015 Nissan and a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup.  The Nissan driver has been identified as a 24 year old from Clinton and the Ford F-150 driver is identified as a 35 year old man from Peabody.  State police have not said how the accident occurred, but at least one vehicle ended up off the roadway and in the woods.  One person was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.  No word at this time on the identity of the drivers or whether charges will be filed.  The accident is pending further investigation.

images-2-3A Hazmat situation in Salem, Massachusetts has sent 30 workers to the hospital on Sunday night.  Hazmat officials were called to the scene of the Thermal Cigarettes plant located on Technology Way in reference to a possible chemical leak.  The plant manufactures e-cigarettes and is open 24 hours a day.

Workers at the plant reported feeling sick and nauseous, having issues breathing and feeling as though they were losing consciousness.  They quickly exited the building before authorities could arrive.  All total, about 30 workers were sent to the hospital following reporting of symptoms.  Some workers transported themselves while others went by ambulance.

Fire officials say this is not the first time they have responded to the plant.  Previously, a chlorine leak had resulted in another visit earlier this year.   The plant was tested for hazardous materials and the scene was secured and determined to be safe for re-entry.  There is no word on the condition of those who went to the hospital for treatment.

Yesterday, Friday, April 20, law enforcement officers reported to the area of Highland Avenue and Freeman Road, at approximately 10:35 a.m., in SalemSalem Car Accident Caused by Falling Debris from Truck

The cause for the dispatch was a report of accidental vehicle damage. A female was driving southbound on Highland Avenue when a piece of plywood flew off of the back of a truck driving in front of her. The plywood hit her 2011 Toyota on the driver’s side of the bumper and puncturing her left-rear tire.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and provided information. The plywood was removed from the road.

Police gave him a citation for the unsecured plywood. The 2011 Toyota was removed from the scene by a tow truck.
