images-1Salem, MA (July 4, 2018) – A driver in Salem, Massachusetts sustained injuries in a two vehicle crash Tuesday. The crash occurred at 7:35 pm  on Washington Street, near the intersection with Mill Street.  Police say two vehicles collided with one another for unknown reasons.  The force of the collision caused the airbags in one of the vehicles to be deployed.

Police discovered that one driver was injured in the crash and requested that an ambulance also respond to the crash.  The injured victim accepted medical treatment.  It is not known at this time whether the victim was also transported to the hospital for additional attention.  This accident remains under investigation with no cause immediately given by Salem police.

car-300x225Peabody, MA (July 4, 2018) – Police in Peabody, Massachusetts were called to the scene of a three vehicle crash on Tuesday.  The accident occured in the 200 block of Andover Street.  Police responded to Andover upon receiving a dispatch about the accident.  Once they arrived, they determined that three vehicles were involved in the crash.

EMS officials also responded to the accident.  The injured victims were treated at the scene but the severity and extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.  Police are actively investigating this crash in an effort to determine the cause.  No charges were immediately issued against any of the drivers involved.

The names of those injured in the crash have not been released by officers.

Police arrived on scene to investigate the crash shortly after it occurred.  Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were treated by EMS at the crash site.  Both declined to be transported to a hospital for further evaluation.  Officers believe that the accident occurred when one of the cars crossed the center line of the roadway and struck the other.  One driver was charged with a marked lanes violation for their role in the crash.

images-6Lowell, MA (July 4, 2018) – A woman riding a scooter in Lowell, Massachusetts was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Tuesday night.  The woman was riding on Middlesex Street near the corner of West Aldea Street around 10:00 when she was struck by an SUV passing through the area.  The SUV driver fled the scene immediately after the crash and before police could arrive on the scene.

The injured woman was airlifted to a Boston hospital with serious injuries, according to Lowell Police Captain Paul LaFerriere.  It is unknown whether her injuries are life-threatening as of Wednesday morning.  The intersection of Middlesex and West Aldea was closed for nearly two hours while police investigated the crash.  Emergency broadcasts just after the collision indicated that the SUV had heavy front end damage.

Police are still searching for the hit and run driver and their investigation into the crash remains ongoing.  No other information is available at this time.

images-3-1Worcester, MA (July 4, 2018) – Police have completed their investigation into a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in Worcester last month.

On June 12, 20 year old Gabriella Lowell was walking along Grafton Street, about a half-mile from her home.  Lowell was walking home from a nearby McDonald’s around 9:00 pm.  She was in a marked cross-walk, approximately three quarters of the way to the other side of the road when she was struck by an SUV.   Ms. Lowell was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The driver, a 21 year old, stopped at the scene and cooperated with police.  The driver was visibly emotional and could be seen crying while talking to investigators.  No charges were issued at the time.

download-5-1Marshfield, MA (July 4, 2018) – A boy in Marshfield, Massachusetts suffered severe burns in a fireworks accident on Tuesday.  The boy was on a beach Tuesday when he was injured by the exploding firework.  Police responded to Farragut Road around 9:30 pm, shortly after the explosion occurred.  There, they found the boy suffering from burns to his legs.

An ambulance transported the boy to South Shore Hospital for treatment.  The boy has second degree burns and is expected to remain in the hospital indefinitely while he recovers.  Police have not released his age or provided additional details surrounding the accident.  It is unknown if the boy was being supervised by an adult when the injuries occurred.

Accident with Car Fire in ChelmsfordLancaster, MA (July 4, 2018) – A crash in Lancaster, Massachusetts on Tuesday left an elderly man in the hospital with injuries but also thankful to still be alive.

Firefighters in Lancaster say that the man was traveling on I-190 south near Lancaster when his car suddenly veered off the road and into the woods.  The car hit several trees before coming to rest.  The vehicle then caught fire with the man still inside.  Several bystanders saw the accident and rushed to the man’s aide.  They were able to pull him from the vehicle just before it became engulfed in flames.  This action almost certainly saved the man’s life.

Medical workers came to the scene and evaluated the man for injuries.   He was transported to Umass Medical Center for further evaluation but is expected to be ok.   The Good Samaritans identities are not known according to Lancaster Fire Chief Michael Hanson.

Accident Involving Police Vehicle on Causeway StreetPittsfield, MA (July 4, 2018) – A police cruiser was involved in a crash with a vehicle on Tuesday in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.  The accident happened early Tuesday, around 1:00 am at the corner of Fenn and First Streets.  At that time, a Pittsfield officer was transporting a prisoner to the police station when his police cruiser was struck by another car.  There is no immediate word on what caused this crash to occur.

Injuries were sustained in this crash but we are told that they are not considered serious or life-threatening.  It is unknown whether the police cruiser had its lights or sirens activated at the time of the crash.  The accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed as of Wednesday morning.

Boston Police Car AccidentNorthampton, MA (July 4, 2018) – A pedestrian suffered injuries after being struck by a police cruiser in Northampton, Massachusetts on Tuesday.  The collision took place in Pulaski Park while police were en route to a call about a suicidal person with a knife.  The woman who was struck suffered non life-threatening injuries.  She was transported to a nearby hospital to receive further evaluation, according to Northampton Police Chief Jodi Kasper.

The woman’s name has not been released.  Police were able to apprehend the knife-wielding suspect with no additional injuries to anyone involved.  It is unclear at this time if the responsible officer will be charged with hitting the pedestrian.

images-1-2Cambridge, MA (July 3, 2018) – Police in Cambridge, Massachusetts responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a child pedestrian on Monday.   Officers were called to Rindge Avenue just before 5:00 pm in reference to a car vs. pedestrian crash.  Once there, they discovered that a child had been struck by a car.  Pro EMS also responded to the crash to treat the injured child.  The child was transported to a hospital for evaluation.  The injuries are not believed to be serious.
