Accident Involving Police Vehicle on Causeway StreetTaunton, MA (July 10, 2018) – A pedestrian in Taunton was hurt in hit and run that took place on Sunday morning, according to Taunton Police Lieutenant Eric Nichols.  The victim, who has been identified only as a female, was at a home at 62 Shores Street when she was struck by a vehicle attempting to back out of a driveway.  Taunton police have classified the incident as a “disturbance” but have provided no further information on what led up to the collision.

Police and EMS arrived on scene to treat the woman for injuries sustained after being struck by the car.  She was transported to Morton Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.  At this time, police have not made any arrests in the hit and run incident, however, they believe that they know the identity of the driver and are engaging in active search to find them.  No additional information has been released regarding this incident.

hire boston personal injury lawyerWorcester, MA (July 4, 2018) – Police in Worcester responded to a hit and run accident on Tuesday afternoon.  The hit and run took place in the 200 block of Pleasant Street and involved two vehicles.  One vehicle left the scene of the crash before officers could arrive.  The other vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.  One person suffered injuries in the crash.  The extent and severity of the injuries could not be immediately verified as of Wednesday.

Police are actively investigating this incident as they continue to search for the responsible driver.  There is no word on the type of vehicle that they are looking for at this time.  No other details surrounding the crash have been released.

imagesIn an unfortunate report out of Boston, police there investigated a hit and run accident with injuries in the early morning hours Friday.  The crash report came in to police at approximately 1:15 an involved a hit and run occurring at 90 Southampton Street.

Police spoke with the driver who remained at the scene.  The driver reported to police that they had just been involved in a crash with another vehicle and that the other vehicle fled the scene.  The remaining driver did suffer injuries in the hit and run crash.  Police were attempting to apprehend the hit and run suspect but, at this time, there is no word on whether they have been located.  The driver who sustained injuries is expected to be ok as none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Haverhill police chase ends in crashPolice in Boston were busy responding to numerous injury accidents on Tuesday evening.  In most cases, drivers involved remained at the crash scene and cooperated with the police investigation into the accident.  However, in the case of an accident that occurred on Baker Street, at least one driver decided to flee the scene prior to police arrival.

An accident with injuries was reported to Officer Joanne Byrne at 9:42 pm.  Officer Byrne arrived to the Baker Street location where she was dispatched and found a person who had sustained injuries in a recent motor vehicle crash.  Through witness statements and her own observations, Officer Byrne concluded that this was  a hit and run crash.  The other driver has not been located by Boston police and the crash investigation remains ongoing at this time.  It is expected that charges will be brought as a result of this crash.  We hope for the speedy recovery of the injured victim in the meantime.

images-1-2Hit and run accidents are some of the worst types of accidents that we encounter as personal injury attorneys.  Unfortunately, there is news coming out of Worcester, Massachusetts that a hit and run took place around 2:00 am on July 18th.  That is when Worcester Police responded to an injury accident call in the 200 block of Providence Street.  When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that an accident involving two vehicles.  One of the vehicles, however, had left the scene prior to police arrival.  The remaining participants in the crash remained on scene.  Officers noted that injuries were sustained in the crash and medical treatment was given.

The Worcester Police Department has released few other details about the hit and run at this time as their investigation into the accident continues.  In the meantime, our thoughts are with the injured and we certainly hope that police are able to locate the responsible driver as soon as possible so that all involved are required to answer for their actions.
