Hyannis, MA – Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Collision

Hyannis, MA (June 28, 2018) – A pedestrian had to be rushed to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Hyannis, Masachusetts on Thursday. The pedestrian was struck at the intersection of South Street and High School Road at around 4:00 pm. Barnstable police received a call about the accident and responded to the scene. Officers quickly realized that the accident involved serious injuries and summoned a rescue squad to the crash site.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was rushed to nearby Cape Cod Hospital with head and chest trauma. Barnstable Police are investigating the crash. Worcester, MA – Accident on E. Central Street

Worcester, MA (June 28, 2018) – Worcester police responded to one accident after another on Wednesday. One such accident occurred in heart of downtown in the 1 block of East Central Street. The crash took place just after 2:00 pm. That is when Worcester police received reports of a multiple vehicle crash with injuries at this location.

Police were quickly dispatched to the scene. Once there, they identified the vehicles involved and began to assess the situation for damage and injuries. Unfortunately, injuries were reported in this crash. At this time, the extent and condition of those injured is not known. Traffic around the area was affected temporarily as police worked to clear the cars away from the accident scene. Traffic was temporarily re-routed while the roadway remained blocked. Eventually, the area was cleared and traffic returned to normal. This accident remains under investigation at the Worcester Police Department.

Worcester, MA (June 28, 2018) – Police in Worcester received a call at approximately 4:00 pm on Wednesday, June 27th concerning an accident that had just occurred on Blackstone River Road. The accident, which involved multiple vehicles, was one of many reported to police across Worcester on Wednesday. Police and other emergency officials responded to the crash. Once there, they located the injured victim. Medical treatment was given on scene.

Police blocked the affected area while they investigated the crash. Officers took statements from those on scene and completed a crash report. There is no initial word on the cause of this collision. Worcester, MA – Accident on Southbridge Street

Worcester, MA (June 28, 2018) – Worcester police responded to a multiple vehicle injury accident in the 300 block of Southbridge Street around 8:00 pm Wednesday. Southbridge Street is located just south of the center of town, near Holy Cross College. Officers responded to the scene shortly after the call came in to police headquarters.

Police on scene discovered that one person had been injured in this crash. Other units, including medical personnel, responded to the accident to assist police. Police took statements from those involved in the crash and complete an initial crash report. No one has been charged at this time and it is not clear if charges will be issued. Worcester, MA – Injury Accident at 400 Granite Street

Worcester, MA (June 28, 2018) – Worcester police had another active day on Wednesday responding to a rash of motor vehicle crashes across the city. Around 9:00 pm police were called to the 400 block of Granite Street in reference to a multiple vehicle accident with injuries. Upon arrival, police located an injured victim in the roadway as well as the vehicles and drivers involved in the crash.

A preliminary investigation was conducted into the accident although the results of the investigation were not released by police. The injured victim received on scene medical treatment but at this time it is unknown whether the injuries are serious or life-threatening. The victim has not been identified by police and no charges have been issued in this crash. Further information will be provided should any new details of the accident become available.

Cambridge, MA – MIT Police Officer Involved in Crash

Cambridge, MA (June 28, 2018) – An MIT police officer was on routine patrol Wednesday when he was struck by a vehicle at an intersection. The accident occurred around 10:30 am when the MIT officer was working detail patrol on Vassar Street. At that time, Cambridge police say a vehicle approached the intersection and failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. The vehicle operator proceeded through the stop sign an struck the officer. The officer, who has not been identified at this time, suffered injuries which are not considered to be life-threatening.

The crash investigation remains ongoing at this time with the Cambridge Police Department. The driver, who was also not identified, was issued a citation for failure to yield. There is no word on the condition of the injured MIT officer.

Cambridge, MA – Bicyclist Struck by Car Door

Cambridge, MA (June 28, 2018) – A bicyclist in Cambridge, Massachusetts was hurt on Wednesday when they were struck by a car door. The bicyclist was riding on Cambridge Street just after 9:00 am when they approached a parked car. The driver was still inside the vehicle and opened their door to get out. However, prior to opening the door, the driver failed to see the oncoming bicyclist. The door struck the bicyclist, knocking them off their bicycle.

The motor vehicle driver failed to stay at the scene. The cyclist then left the area to locate Cambridge police. Once an officer was located, the cyclist reported the incident to police. Police were able to contact the driver and issued a them a citation for an unsafe movement. The bicyclist sustained injuries as a result of being struck by the door, however, the injuries do not appear to be serious.

Cambridge, MA – Pedestrian Hurt on Vassar Street

Cambridge, MA (June 28, 2018) – A pedestrian in Cambridge, Massachusetts was injured on Wedensday while walking at the intersection of Vassar Street and Amesbury Street. Cambridge police were told that the accident occurred just before 6:00 pm when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. Police responded to the scene and spoke with both the pedestrian and the driver of the vehicle. The pedestrian and driver cooperated with the police investigation into the accident. It is not known at this time what caused the crash to occur. Police did not immediately charge either party in association with the crash.

The pedestrian suffered injuries as a result of the accident. Fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening and the pedestrian was treated on scene. Neither the pedestrian nor the driver have been identified by Cambridge police.

Camrbidge, MA – Bicyclist Hit by Car, Injured

Cambridge, MA (June 28, 2018) – A bicyclist in Cambridge was hurt Wednesday when they collided with a car in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The bicyclist was riding on Franklin Street, near Bay Street around 1:00 pm when they collided with a car traveling at the same location. The resulting collision left the bicyclist with injuries. Cambridge Police investigated the crash.

Officers have not released additional details surrounding the collision as they continue to investigate. Fortunately, the bicyclist’s injuries are not life-threatening and it appears as though they escape this crash relatively unscathed. There is no word on whether police intend to charge the driver for their role in the accident or why this collision occurred in the first place.

Springfield, MA – Woman Injured in 3 Car Collision

Springfield, MA (June 28, 2018) – A three car collision took place in Springfield, Massachusetts on Wednesday afternoon. The crash occurred just after 4:30 pm according to Dennis Leger, Executive Aid to the Springfield Fire Commissioner. At that time, three vehicles were traveling on Liberty Street when they all somehow collided with one another. Police and fire officials have not said how the collision occurred or who may be at fault for it occurring.

At least one woman was injured in the crash. Police and firefighters had to extricate her from the car. Once she was removed, she was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that do no appear to be life-threatening. There is no word on if the other two drivers were injured. Springfield police continue to investigate the accident and have not issued any charges at this time.
