download-5-300x168Falmouth, MA (June 30, 2018) – This time of year Cape Cod is an exceptionally busy place.  Tourists and vacationers are making their way out to the Cape to enjoy the fresh and air, breathtaking sights and the local beaches.  However, along with more traffic and visitors comes the potential for more traffic accidents.  Police on Saturday responded to a handful of vehicle accidents in the Cape region.

One accident occurred just before 1:00 pm on Nathan Ellis Highway at Courier Road.  There, a Cape Cod trolley collided with a passenger vehicle along the two lane road.  The crash sent a large hydraulic spill into the roadway.  Emergency workers spent some time cleaning up the spill.  Traffic had to be diverted while crews worked to clear the road.  An injury to the driver of the passenger vehicle was also reported in this accident,  The injury  is believed to be non life-threatening.

Police in Falmouth are still investigating and have not released word on the cause of this accident.

Accident on Route 3Falmouth, MA (June 30, 2018) – A three vehicle crash in Falmouth was reported to police just after 12:00 pm Saturday.   The crash happened at the intersection Woods Hole and Oyster Pond Road.  It is not immediately clear if there was a stop sign or stop light directing traffic through the area.  The crash occurred on a winding two lane road.

Multiple rescue workers and police officers responded to the crash, including five ambulances and a Level 1 Mass Casualty Unit, indicating that the accident produced severe injuries.  There is no word at this time on the condition of the injured.  Police are still investigating the crash and we will have more details for you should they become available at a later date.

27826443258_b358ca39e1_b-300x300Westfield, MA (June 30, 2018) – A serious rollover crash occurred Saturday in Westfield, Massachusetts.  A 2o12 Volkswagen was traveling on Cabot Road when it came to a stop sign.  A 2004 Toyota was traveling in the opposite direction.  The vehicles collided at the intersection and both flipped over.  Three ambulances, along with police and fire department workers came to the scene to assist in the cleanup.   In total, 3 people including a child were transported to Bay State Medical Center with injuries that, fortunately, are not believed to be life-threatening.

The Volkswagen driver told police that they stopped at the stop sign.  However, they have said that the Toyota did not have a stop sign and did have the right of way at the intersection.  Police have not officially determined a cause for the crash and are still investigating.

Elmwood AvenueBoston, MA (June 30, 2018) – Boston police responded to many car accident scenes on Friday.  One of the earliest calls came in to police at 1:42 am regarding a multiple car crash with injuries.  Police believe that the crash occurred at 1:40 am and that they received the call just two minutes later.  Officer Robert Fields was working routine patrol on Friday morning and responded to the crash report.

Officer Fields, along with fire and rescue personnel, discovered that one person was injured in the crash.  Medical treatment was offered and accepted on scene.  The extent of injuries is not currently known.  The accident investigation remains ongoing under Boston police case number 182050622.

bicycle-crash-300x199Beverly, MA (June 30, 2018) -A bicyclist was involved in a crash with a vehicle in Beverly, Massachusetts on Friday.  The accident occurred at the intersection of Cabot and Dane Street.  An ambulance was called to the scene to assist the injured bicyclist.  Later, the bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with injuries resulting from the crash.   The condition of the bicyclist is unknown at this time.

Beverly police are still investigating the crash and its cause.  The bicyclist was not immediately identified and police have not yet decided whether to issue any citations for the crash.

Two-Car Accident with Injuries Reported in SaugusPeadbody, MA (June 30, 2018) – Police in Peadbody, Massachusetts responded to a two vehicle crash in the 600 block of Lowell Street Friday morning.  The crash happened just after 10:00 am.  Both vehicles suffered heavy property damage in the collision and had to be towed from the accident scene.  In addition, two people were hurt in the crash.  Both were transported to North Shore Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.  It is not known at this time whether the injuries are serious or life-threatening.

Traffic around the area was affected momentarily as police investigated the accident the vehicles involved were towed away.  Peabody officers have not released any more details about this crash and it appears as though this is still an ongoing police investigation.

download-4-4Brewster, MA (June 30, 2018) –A Nissan Rogue carrying three passengers crashed into a tree on Friday in Brewster, Massachusetts.  The crash happened on Route 37 near Harwich around 12:30 pm.  The crash was apparently caused when the driver of the Rogue lost control of her vehicle, left the roadway to the right and crashed head on into a tree.  An ambulance arrived on scene shortly after the crash.  One person was transported to Cape Cod Hospital.  That person’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.  The other three occupants of the Rogue were shaken up but not hurt.

Brewster Fire and Rescue along with local police investigated the crash.  No other details have been released.  The accident investigation remains active at this time.

Rollover Accident in ChicopeeMarstons Mills, MA (June 30, 2018) – Two people were injured in a rollover crash early Saturday morning in Marstons Mills, Massachusetts.  Barnstable police say that two people were traveling in an SUV on State Route 28 near South County Road when the SUV rolled over, pinning them inside.  Barnstable police and local rescue workers responded immediately to the scene of the crash.

The two occupants of the SUV were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries, the extent of which are unknown at this time.  Barnstable police are still investigating this crash and have not identified either the driver or passenger of the SUV.  The cause of the rollover is not known.

Crash on I-93 SouthboundBoston, MA (June 30, 2018) – A crash on Friday morning resulted in injuries to at least one person.  The accident took place mid-morning, around 10:30 am.  Officer Paul Sheehan of the Boston Police Department was the first officer to arrive on scene.  Officer Sheehan was assigned to complete the subsequent crash investigation.

Unfortunately, there are reports that at least one person was injured in this crash although it is not known at this time whether the injuries are serious or life-threatening.  A cause for the crash has not been determined nor have officers determined who may be at fault.  Police will consider a variety of factors when concluding their investigation such as whether one driver was speeding, inattentive, failed to comply with traffic signals or was otherwise negligent in causing the crash.  Depending on the outcome of the investigation and the facts surrounding this crash, the injured victim could have a claim for personal injuries against the other driver.

images-1-9Boston, MA (June 30, 2018) – Boston Police were busy on Friday responding to numerous accident across the city.  In at least two of those accidents, they were faced with a hit and run situation.  In several other accidents, while the drivers remained on scene to speak with, at least one person was injured due to the negligence of another driver.

A multiple vehicle accident with injuries occurred at 1:30 pm Friday on Columbia Road in Boston.  Officer Paulo Pereira of the BPD was on routine patrol when the accident call was received.  Offier Pereira responded to the scene to provide assistance and investigate the crash.   Upon arrival, Officer Pereira located one person suffering from injuries that were sustained in the accident.  The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officer Pereira conducted a thorough crash investigation.  At this time, however, the cause of the crash on Columbia Road is unknown.  Police have not released the names of the drivers involved.
