Michael Mangeri Killed While Helping Another Accident Victim, Jessica Gelebert

blur-cars-dew-125510-300x200Late Wednesday night, April 25, 2018, Michael Mangeri was struck by his own car and killed, while helping an injured pedestrian, Jessica Gelebert.  The accident occurred around 10:00 pm Wednesday night on Route 75.

Mangeri, a 64-year-old man from Windsor Locks, was driving down Route 75 in the pouring rain, late Tuesday night around 10:00 pm.  Gelebert, a 30-year-old woman from Hartford, was walking across the street, while Mangeri was driving by, and was hit by Mangeri’s car.  Mangeri stopped and exited his vehicle to assist Gelebert when another car hit his car.  The other car was being driven by Brian Root, a 30-year-old man, originally from Agawam and just moved to Windsor Locks.

Car Crashes in to Patrice Newton-Vanleer, Pinning Her to a Building and Killing Her

A Brockton woman, was struck by a vehicle Saturday night, April 21, 2018 and killed.  Her identity was recently confirmed as 32-year-old Patrice Newton-Vanleer by her family.  The accident happened around 9:30 pm at the intersection of Legion Street and Main Street in Brockton.

Patrice was waiting at the intersection of Legion Street and Main street to safely get across the street which was directly in front of her apartments.  As she waited, a car was driving towards her and went straight through the red light.  The vehicle then struck another car and spiraled uncontrollably until it landed on the sidewalk where Patrice was standing.

Two People Injured After Crash in Holyoke on Route 5

Car-Crash-Tree-300x218A crash on Route 5 in Holyoke occurred Tuesday afternoon, April 25, 2018 at around 3:30 pm.  A call was received stating that a pickup truck with two occupants had struck a tree near the intersection of Lincoln Street and Northampton Street.

Holyoke Fire Department responded to the scene to find the Nissan pickup truck had struck a tree hard enough to cause the two occupants to be stuck in the truck and unable to get themselves out.  The firefighters had to use heavy-duty tools in order to free the passengers.  They had to pull the top of the Nissan off using spreaders, rams, and ultimately hydraulic cutters in order to get one of the passengers out of the truck.

The female victim of Sunday’s pedestrian car accident against a building has been identified as Patrice Vanleer. v

Her husband exited their apartment to observe a car accident he had just heard, which occurred just a few feet from the building. He discovered that it was his wife that was injured in the crash. The vehicle pinned her against the building wall.

Patrice Valeer was 32-years-old and died at the hospital a day later, on Saturday April 22. The accident happened in Brockton at about 9 p.m.

Two individuals in separate motor vehicles sustained injuries in a three-car accident on the northbound side of Interstate 495. The accident occurred late this  afternoon. The collision occurred south of exit 46, near the Route 110 and Interstate 495 connector. Three-car collision Lawrence

The drivers were transported to Lawrence General Hospital.

The first injured driver was an Essex woman in her 50s who was operating a 2011 Ford F250 with a trailer housing two horses hitched to the truck. The other injured motorist was almost 50-years-old and a resident of Bradford, driving a 2017 Nissan Rogue.
