Commuter Rail Train Struck and Killed Pedestrian in Ayer

Train-Sign-300x225A man carrying his bike was struck and killed on train tracks Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in Ayer.  The train was stopped in Ayer for the rest of the day while the investigation proceeded.

The man was struck by an incoming train, while Transit police state he was trespassing.  He was transported to Nashoba Valley Medical Center where he was later died from his injuries.

Natalia, who turns three next week, was struck by a truck Tuesday night, May 1, 2018, at the corner of Montmorenci Street and Massasoit Street.  The accident happened around 7:00 pm.

The truck was driven by 32-year-old Edgar Diaz of Springfield.  Diaz originally ran on foot from the accident.  He was caught a little farther down the street and held there until the police arrived.  Diaz was found to not have a valid driver’s license.

An Elderly Couple Sent to Hospital After Fire in Chicopee

707631_fire_truck-300x225Early Wednesday morning, May 2, 2018, a call was received regarding a house fire on Czepiel Street in Chicopee.  The fire was first discovered around 6:15 am by a neighbor who heard explosions coming from the house.

The fire was in the home of an elderly couple who were both transported to Baystate Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of their injuries.  Both were admitted to the hospital after arrival.  The wife’s condition has been reported as serious, and the husband is still being evaluated.

Bus Accident Causes Injuries as Pipes Break Through Window

An accident occurred Wednesday morning, May 2, 2018, when a bus collided with a work truck carrying pipes.  The accident happened near Bourne Bridge on MacArthur Boulevard.  It was around 8:00 am when the crash took place.

The Peter Pan bus was travelling from Woods Hole to Logan Airport, with stops in between at Bourne and Falmouth.  The accident took place in Cape Cod.

Car Crashes Through Glass Doors at Westgate Drive Salvation Army

Monday morning, April 30, 2018, a car crashed through the glass doors of a Salvation Army.  The incident occurred around 9:30 am at the Salvation Army at Westgate Drive.  The glass doors that were smashed led to the donation center.

Brockton Fire Department responded to the call of a vehicle hitting the building.  The car is a silver Hyundai.  The vehicle sustained minor damage to the front end of the bumper/car.  The name or identity of the driver has not yet been released.   Very few details have been released at this time, but additional details expect to be released to the public as they become available.  The number or extent of injuries is unknown at this time.

Boston Fire Department Rescues Woman from Water in Dorchester

Tuesday night, May 1, 2018, a report came in to the Boston Fire Department of a woman found in the water near the JFK Library in Dorchester.  A call was received around 10:30 pm.  The Dive Team, Marine Unit, and Technical Rescue Response team were called to the scene for assistance.  BFD was able to pull the woman from the water safely.

The identity of the woman has not yet been released, the only information we have received is she is in her 20’s.  Boston EMS transported the woman to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment of the woman’s injuries.  Reports stated the woman was awake and responsive when she was rescued from the water and transported to the hospital.
