Victim Identified in Mattapan Shooting

At around 11 in the morning on Tuesday, police responded to a call about a person shot on 50 Evelyn Street in Mattapan. The victim has been identified as Garfield Thomas, 33. He suffered from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.

We would like to send our condolences to the family of Garfield Thomas. These violent acts can be hard to understand. Criminal actions that kill people leave the family and friends behind to grieve and ask why. It is so important to do all we can to help victims families. It is also important to help make our communities safer.

Update: Obituary for Kathleen ‘Kathy’ Callahan

Boston police say a man has died after a shooting that happened in Mattapan on Tuesday morning.

This incident occurred at around 10:40 in the morning in a house on Evelyn Street. The victim, a male in his 30’s, was taken to Boston Medical Center and pronounced dead there.

Update: Hampden DA Identified Man Shot at Bus Stop

It can be hard to understand why people commit violent acts against other people.

A man was fatally shot at a bus stop shelter in the South End on Sunday night. The man has now been identified as Angel Calo, 36. Police are seeking help from the public as they look for the person who shot him.

We would like to offer our condolences to the family and friends of Angel Calo. The criminal actions of another person can be so hard to understand. When someone decides to commit a violent act against another, the family and friends of the person who passed away can seek compensation and justice. They deserve to at least seek to recover their rights.
