27826443258_b358ca39e1_b-300x300Harwich, MA (July 2, 2018) – A collision involving two Volvos left three people in the hospital on Sunday in Harwich, Massachusetts.  Around 2:00 pm, the two cars were traveling near the intersection of Queen Anne Road and Oak Street when they collided with one another.   Police say that one of the Volvo drivers, identified only as a male, ran a stop sign and collided with the other Volvo.  The resulting t-bone impact caused three people to sustain injuries.

An ambulance transported all three injured victims to nearby Cape Cod Hospital.  The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.   Harwich police charged the male driver with failing to stop at a stop sign.

27826443258_b358ca39e1_b-300x300Cambridge, MA (June 28, 2018) – An MIT police officer was on routine patrol Wednesday when he was struck by a vehicle at an intersection.  The accident occurred around 10:30 am when the MIT officer was working detail patrol on Vassar Street.  At that time, Cambridge police say a vehicle approached the intersection and failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.  The vehicle operator proceeded through the stop sign an struck the officer.  The officer, who has not been identified at this time, suffered injuries which are not considered to be life-threatening.

The crash investigation remains ongoing at this time with the Cambridge Police Department.  The driver, who was also not identified, was issued a citation for failure to yield.  There is no word on the condition of the injured MIT officer.

The riders were a man and a woman, residents of Ware. They were transported to Springfield’s Baystate Medical Center in an ambulance. They were reported as being in critical condition, yet stable.

The crash involved a sedan and happened at about 4:30 p.m. on South Maple Street around the Mountain Farms Mall and Hampshire Mall. Hadley Police, Hadley Fire Department and Amherst Fire Department were all dispatched to the scene of the accident.
