
Pedestrian accidents can be some of the most devastating vehicle accidents as they can leave pedestrian with serious injuries. Pedestrians are not protected by helmets or seat belts, and they are exposed completely. It is vital for drivers to remember to watch out for pedestrians and for pedestrians to remain vigilant.
On May 26, a pedestrian accident caused injury to one man. The elderly man was hit by a car while crossing a street in Hyannis. Hyannis emergency officials responded to reports of a pedestrian who had been hit by a car. Upon arrival, they found the victim had extensive injuries, and he was flown by helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.
The driver was a 79-year-old man from Carver who was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Trax. No citations have been issued thus far. Police are still investigating this accident.
