Hit-and-Run Victim Identified, Search for Witness Ongoing

On May 26, a man was killed after a hit-and-run crash that occurred in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston. Massachusetts State Police identified the victim as 40-year-old Pierre Desir of Boston.

Desir was walking on Morton Street when a driver struck him. The vehicle that struck him did not stop. Upon arrival, first responders secured the scene and begin the investigation. Police are still seeking a taxi driver who may have witnessed the crash. The investigation into the accident is still ongoing by state police.

A pedestrian was severely injured on Sunday night after being hit by a car and has recently been identified. 28-year-old Vasiliki Vasvatekis is a Bridgewater resident who was struck by a vehicle while walking outside. According to initial reports, Vasvatekis was struck by a 42-year-old man as he drove his vehicle. West Bridgewater Police responded to the incident around 9 p.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Vasvatekis had serious head and leg injuries. She was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton for initial treatment. She was later transported via medical helicopter to Boston Medical Center to receive further treatment for her injuries.

On May 22, a teenager in Ludlow was hit by a motorist in front of Baird Middle School. The 14-year-old student was using the crosswalk when he was hit.  The adult motorist who hit the boy was driving slowly, and this incident is still being investigated. The teen was taken to Holyoke Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A woman suffered from life-threatening injuries after she was hit by a car on Sunday night in West Bridgewater.

This happened at West Center Street at around 9 at night. A 28-year-old woman was taken to the hospital and then air-flighted to Boston Medical Center.
