Injury Accident on I-290 EB in Auburn

Monday morning, April 30, 2018, a crash occurred in Auburn on I-290 EB.  A black Toyota was involved in an injury crash which caused a response from the Massachusetts Fire Department and the Massachusetts Police Department.  The accident happened around 9:52 am on the I-290 EB.

Due to the accident, police closed the right lane of traffic on the I-290.  They closed the lane long enough to clear the accident and conduct a preliminary investigation.  Once the accident was cleared and the injured person was tended to, the lanes were reopened to traffic.

Fire in Amherst Multi-Family Home Causes Injuries to One Person and Displaces 20 Others

Chicopee Apartment FireFirefighters responded to a fire in a multi-family home early Sunday morning, April 29, 2018 on Main Street.  The fire broke out around 2:55 am on the third story.

One person was found on the third floor and needed to be removed from the residence.  Some of the residents were pouring water on the fire trying to put it out, after the smoke alarms were going off.  Most of the residents did not need assistance leaving the home.

95-year-old Transported to Hospital with Injuries After Crashing in to Telephone Pole in West Springfield

Sunday morning, April 29, 2018, a 95-year-old man crashed in to a telephone pole after leaving church.  The incident happened as he was leaving 337 Piper Road, where the First Baptist Church is located.

Preliminary reports state that the 95-year-old man may have suffered a medical issue prior to the accident, which contributed to the crash.  Red’s Towing, the police department, and the fire department responded to the accident.  A portion of Piper Road was closed to traffic by the West Springfield police as they investigated and cleared up the accident.  Police tape was put up around the accident while emergency crews were working at the scene.

Injuries Caused as Ford Escape Strikes Tree While on the Way to the Hospital

A man on his way to dialysis Saturday morning, April 28, 2018, may have fallen asleep at the wheel causing him to crash in to a tree in Palmer.  The incident occurred around 5:00 am Saturday morning at the intersection of Searle Street and Fairview Street.

The man was driving a 2008 Ford Escape when he veered off the road and hit a tree head on, according to Palmer Police.  The driver was trapped in his vehicle as the door had become wedged shut after striking the tree.  Firefighters needed the ‘Jaws of Life’ to free him from his car.

Nicholas Lombardi Dies in Quincy Motorcycle Crash After Crashing in to Multiple Vehicles

four deadSunday night, April 29, 2018, a motorcycle lost control and crashed in to multiple vehicles, killing the rider.  The crash happened around 7:30 pm at the intersection of Howard Street and Quincy Avenue, in Quincy, Massachusetts.

Reports state that the motorcycle rider, identified as Nicholas Lombardi, was speeding, smashed in to multiple vehicles before crashing his motorcycle causing life-threatening injuries.  Lombardi was reported to be a 26-year-old from Easton and a 2009 graduate from Oliver Ames.  Nicholas Lombardi worked as a nurse at Brockton Hospital.  Lombardi received many awards while attending Brockton Hospital’s School of Nursing where he graduated in 2014.

One Fatality Reported in Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash on Route 195 WB

A single-vehicle rollover crash caused a woman from New Bedford to be killed.  The accident happened Tuesday morning, May 1, 2018 on Route 195 WB near mm 38, when a car went off the road.   It occurred around 8:45 am in Wareham, Massachusetts.

Around 11:00 am, State Troopers responded to the call of a rollover accident.  It has been reported that the driver of the car over corrected when the car began to run off the left side of the freeway.  The over correction caused the car to rollover at the right side of Route 195.

Injury Accident as Car Strikes Bike by the YMCA on Main Street

Late on Thursday afternoon, April 30, 2018, an accident happened in which injuries were caused by a vehicle striking a bicycle.  The accident occurred by the YMCA on Main Street around 4:31 pm.

Injuries were sustained by the bike rider, but the seriousness of the injuries have not yet been released to the public.  The unidentified bicyclist was sent to Mass General Hospital via ambulance.
