New Bedford, MA (July 11, 2018) – Tuesday morning commuters in New Bedford received an unpleasant surprise when they encountered a multi-vehicle accident around 9:00 am on I-195. The accident took place in the westbound travel lanes of the highway, near exit 15. Two vehicles were involved in this crash and injuries were reported. The extent and condition of those injured is not known as of Wednesday morning.
Officers investigated the crash but have yet to release an official cause. They are considering all factors such as speed, inattention and distracted driving, as well as violations of any applicable traffic laws leading to the crash. Those involved in the crash have not been identified. There is no additional information available at this time.
