Hit-and-Run Accident on Pilgrim AvenueCambridge, MA (June 27, 2018) – Cambridge was the site of a two car collision on Tuesday morning.  Officers with the Cambridge Police Department responded to an accident scene at Cambridge Street around 9:50 am.  While on scene, officers located two vehicles that had just been involved in a collision at the location.  There were injuries sustained in the crash but they are not life-threatening.

Cambridge police have not said how the accident occurred, however, they did charge 37 year old Mirian Dos Santos with operating a motor vehicle without a license.  Dos Santos was also cited for unsafe operation based on witness statements at the scene that she was using a cell phone at the time of the crash.  There is no word on the current condition of the injured driver.

Pedestrian Accident in Boston
On June 13, the Boston Police Department received a call about a pedestrian accident that occurred on Main Street in Boston. The accident was reported around 8:20 in the morning, and police and other first responders were dispatched and arrived at the scene shortly afterward.

Once arriving at the scene, Officer Charles Kelley and other first responders secured the scene and directed traffic around the area. They discovered that one individual, the pedestrian, had been injured in the accident. EMTs administered emergency medical care to this individual and worked to stabilize them. The extent of their injuries is still under review and has not been released to the public. However, no fatalities were reported.

Within the hour, the scene was cleared. The driver remained on the scene and answered questions about the accident. The crash remains under investigation.

On June 13, the Worcester Police Department received information about a car accident that was reported to have involved two vehicles. The call about the collision was received around 1 in the morning, and emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly afterward.

Upon arrival, they found that the accident was serious and that one individual had been severely injured in the crash. This individual was given medical care at the scene and then transported to a nearby hospital to receive further medical attention for their injuries. On June 3, a popular restaurant in Peabody was closed after an SUV crashed into it. Police in the area were called to the scene of the accident, and they dispatched emergency crews to the scene soon after hearing the news.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered that a driver accidentally backed into the front of the restaurant. At least five customers were inside at the time of the crash, and one individual sustained injuries in the accident. EMTs administer medical care to this individual at the scene, but the extent of the injuries is unknown.

According to initial reports, a 63-year-old woman was behind the wheel and hit the gas instead of the breaks, causing the accident. The owner of the restaurant says it will remain closed until the mess is cleared.

The incident was reported to police around 3:45 in the afternoon, and emergency responders were sent to the scene quickly after receiving notification of the collision. On June 12, Massachusetts State Police received a report of a multi-vehicle accident. The accident was reported to police around 3:40 in the afternoon, and emergency responders including police and fire crews were dispatched to the scene quickly afterwards. This incident occurred on Route 3 north at Exit 19, Burgin Parkway.

Once arriving at the scene, they discovered that two vehicles had been involved in the accident. One of the individuals had been injured in the crash, and EMTs administered medical care to this individual. The extent of their injuries is still under review, and the name of the victim has not yet been released. No fatalities were reported. The scene was secured within the hour, and traffic was able to flow normally.

Three People Seriously Injured in Collision
On June 11, police received a report of a serious vehicle accident involving two vehicles. The accident was reported in the morning, and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly.

Upon arrival, they found that a Toyota SUV being driven by Andrew Brockelman of Boxford was traveling northbound when a Mazda being driven by Richard Spiess of Southwest Harbor was traveling southbound when the two vehicles collided.

Spiess and his wife, Lee Ann, were flown by helicopter to a hospital in Lewiston. He is listed in critical condition. Brockelman was also injured, but he is listed in fair condition. The accident occurred near Hazelwood Drive and remains under investigation by the Carrabassett Valley Police Department. No fatalities were reported at the scene.

Crash on Mass Pike in Palmer Injures One
On June 12, State Police responded to a car accident that occurred on the Massachusetts Pike eastbound in Palmer. Police were first informed of this accident around 5:30 in the morning and emergency crews responded to the scene shortly thereafter.

Upon arrival at Exit 8, Palmer firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate one woman from a vehicle. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries, but the extent of her condition is still being determined. However, no fatalities were reported. Fire and police authorities closed the left lane for a time while personnel remained on-scene and documented the incident.

Massachusetts State Police reopened all lines within a couple of hours. Police took statements from witnesses and those involved in the accident. This crash remains under investigation.
