Marshfield, MA – Boy Suffers Second Degree Burns from Fireworks

Marshfield, MA (July 4, 2018) – A boy in Marshfield, Massachusetts suffered severe burns in a fireworks accident on Tuesday. The boy was on a beach Tuesday when he was injured by the exploding firework. Police responded to Farragut Road around 9:30 pm, shortly after the explosion occurred. There, they found the boy suffering from burns to his legs.

An ambulance transported the boy to South Shore Hospital for treatment. The boy has second degree burns and is expected to remain in the hospital indefinitely while he recovers. Police have not released his age or provided additional details surrounding the accident. It is unknown if the boy was being supervised by an adult when the injuries occurred.

Lancaster, Mass – Man Escapes Fiery Crash Thanks to Good Samaritans

Lancaster, MA (July 4, 2018) – A crash in Lancaster, Massachusetts on Tuesday left an elderly man in the hospital with injuries but also thankful to still be alive.

Firefighters in Lancaster say that the man was traveling on I-190 south near Lancaster when his car suddenly veered off the road and into the woods. The car hit several trees before coming to rest. The vehicle then caught fire with the man still inside. Several bystanders saw the accident and rushed to the man’s aide. They were able to pull him from the vehicle just before it became engulfed in flames. This action almost certainly saved the man’s life.

Medical workers came to the scene and evaluated the man for injuries. He was transported to Umass Medical Center for further evaluation but is expected to be ok. The Good Samaritans identities are not known according to Lancaster Fire Chief Michael Hanson.

Pittsfield, MA – Car Collides with Police Cruiser

Pittsfield, MA (July 4, 2018) – A police cruiser was involved in a crash with a vehicle on Tuesday in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The accident happened early Tuesday, around 1:00 am at the corner of Fenn and First Streets. At that time, a Pittsfield officer was transporting a prisoner to the police station when his police cruiser was struck by another car. There is no immediate word on what caused this crash to occur.

Injuries were sustained in this crash but we are told that they are not considered serious or life-threatening. It is unknown whether the police cruiser had its lights or sirens activated at the time of the crash. The accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed as of Wednesday morning.

Northampton, MA Pedestrian Hit by Police Cruiser

Northampton, MA (July 4, 2018) – A pedestrian suffered injuries after being struck by a police cruiser in Northampton, Massachusetts on Tuesday. The collision took place in Pulaski Park while police were en route to a call about a suicidal person with a knife. The woman who was struck suffered non life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital to receive further evaluation, according to Northampton Police Chief Jodi Kasper.

The woman’s name has not been released. Police were able to apprehend the knife-wielding suspect with no additional injuries to anyone involved. It is unclear at this time if the responsible officer will be charged with hitting the pedestrian.

Cambridge, MA – Child Struck by Vehicle

Cambridge, MA (July 3, 2018) – Police in Cambridge, Massachusetts responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a child pedestrian on Monday. Officers were called to Rindge Avenue just before 5:00 pm in reference to a car vs. pedestrian crash. Once there, they discovered that a child had been struck by a car. Pro EMS also responded to the crash to treat the injured child. The child was transported to a hospital for evaluation. The injuries are not believed to be serious.

Police are investigating the crash. They do not suspect that any foul play was involved, however, there is no final word on whether the driver will be charged for hitting the child. No further information about the crash is currently available.

Worcester, MA – One Injured in Lake Avenue Crash

Worcester, MA (July 3, 2018) – Worcester police responded to a crash in the 1 block of Lake Avenue North on Monday. Police were first dispatched to the crash scene just after 3:00 pm after receiving a call for assistance to the area. Fire and rescue personnel were also on scene due to the injuries caused in this crash. One person was treated on scene. The extent of injuries are unknown.

Traffic on Lake Avenue was disrupted as the road was shut down while police worked the crash scene. The damaged vehicles were removed from the street while officers took statements from the drivers and considered all factors which may have caused the crash. As of Tuesday, the police investigation into the accident remained ongoing and officers had not publicly released any information regarding the cause.

Worcester, MA- Injury Accident on Harvard Street

Worcester, MA (July 3, 2018) – Police in Worcseter, Massachusetts were busy late Monday night responding to an injury accident in the 1 block of Harvard Street. This accident occurred at 11:00 pm. Police received the call shortly after 11 and went to the scene promptly to investigate.

Unfortunately, upon their arrival, officers discovered injuries caused by the crash. Given this information, a medical unit was also called in to treat the crash victim. Medical treatment was administered on scene but there is no word on what, if any, additional medical treatment was necessary.

All of those involved in this crash remained at the scene to cooperate with the subsequent police investigation. Police are still looking into what caused the crash and have not released further information as of Tuesday morning.

South Dennis, MA – Two Vehicle Crash at Old Bass River Road

South Dennis, MA (July 3, 2018) – Monday was an extremely busy day for police in Dennis, Massachusetts. Police responded to at least five multiple vehicle collisions across the city, with at least three of the collisions resulting in injury.

At 10:45 am, Dennis Police responded to a call for a two car accident with injuries at the intersection of Old Bass River Road and Bob Crowell Road. An ambulance also responded to the scene based on initial reports of injury. EMS treated two people for injuries and transported them to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Officers are still investigating this crash in an effort to determine the sequence of events leading up to the accident. At this time, no official cause has been released nor have the involved individuals been identified. No other information was available as of Tuesday morning.

South Dennis, MA – Four Injured in Monday Crash

South Dennis, MA (July 3, 2018) – Police across the Cape Cod region responded to a number of vehicle accidents on Monday. One of these accidents occurred in South Dennis, Massachusetts at 10:55 am. The crash happened along Route 134 in the southbound lanes. Two vehicles were involved in this crash. There were also passengers in the vehicles at the time of the collision.

In total, four people were injured in the accident and were transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. Police have not identified the drivers or the cars involved in this accident. There is no information on what caused the crash to occur and officers have not indicated whether there will be any charges issued as a result of the accident.

Worcester, MA – Accident Reported on Mill Street

Worcester, MA (July 3, 2018) – The holiday week is off to an unenviable start in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Police responded to at least five car accidents involving injuries, all of which took place on Monday at different locations across the city. One of of the many injury crashes occurred Monday morning on Mill Street. The call came in to police around 8:00 am regarding on accident with injuries in the 500 block of Mill.

Officers along with medical and fire personnel responded to the crash upon receiving the initial dispatch. When they arrived, they located at least one person suffering from injuries caused by the crash. The injured victim was treated at the scene and, fortunately, appears that they will recover from their injuries.
