Police in Salem reported a two-car crash at around 4:30 p.m. on May 25. The accident took place at a drive-thru near Phil-Mart. Upon arrival, first responders learned that a 2008 Mazda being driven by Sonya Watson was driving forward and stopped when a 2003 GMC being driven by Ryan Gately rolled forward and hit the back of the Mazda. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found there were minor injuries and administered care at the scene. No one was transported to the hospital, however. Gately appeared to be intoxicated when the incident occurred.
