I 84 State Line – Tractor Trailer Rollover With Injuries

Tractor Trailer Accident on Quincy StreetI 84 State Line (June 29, 2018) – Massachusetts State Police responded to an early morning tractor trailer rollover on Interstate 84 near the Connecticut Line on Friday morning.  The call came in to police headquarters shortly after 2:00 am.  The caller advised State Police that the accident had just occurred in the eastbound lanes of the highway and that a tractor trailer had rolled over onto its side.

Troopers went to the scene in response to the call and discovered a truck lying on its drivers side in the roadway.  The truck driver was able to extricate himself from the wreckage prior to police arrival.  The driver sustained injuries in the rollover, however, the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.  The truck had to be lifted upright and removed from the roadway.  Although the accident occurred at an off hour for traffic, there were some delays in the area while police and other workers cleared the accident and re-opened all lanes of the highway.  There are no further details immediately available.

Boston Personal Injury Lawyers

We are glad to hear that the truck driver in this case apparently escaped serious injury.  Truck accidents are some of the most dangerous and deadly crashes that we see on Massachusetts streets and highways every year.  Rollover collisions are especially dangerous in heavy commercial vehicles because of the weight and cargo of the vehicles.  While the accident remains under investigation it is too early to tell what caused this rollover and whether it was due to driver error or an outside cause such as poor road conditions or an evasive maneuver to avoid another vehicle or hazard.
