Update: Athol Fatal Car Crash

This is an update on a story we posted on earlier today.

One person died after a crash at South Athol Road and Riverview Avenue. This accident occurred at around 8:45 at night on Sunday. This information comes from police.

The car, a Nissan Altima, struck a tree and was on the roof when responders got there. One person was ejected from the vehicle. Two other people had to be freed by firefighters.

One person was taken by the ambulance to Worcester hospital. The other was taken to Athol Hospital. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released yet.
