Accident on Route 95 at Exit 8

Upon arrival, police investigation revealed that one of the two cars involved had crossed the yellow line and hit the other vehicle head-on. Both cars showed major damage to their front ends, and crews worked to clean up the road and two the cars away.

First responders found that three people were injured in the accident, and they were all transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals. Their injuries were reported to be serious. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by police. The accident has since been cleared.

Three People Seriously Injured in Collision
On June 11, police received a report of a serious vehicle accident involving two vehicles. The accident was reported in the morning, and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly.

Upon arrival, they found that a Toyota SUV being driven by Andrew Brockelman of Boxford was traveling northbound when a Mazda being driven by Richard Spiess of Southwest Harbor was traveling southbound when the two vehicles collided.

Spiess and his wife, Lee Ann, were flown by helicopter to a hospital in Lewiston. He is listed in critical condition. Brockelman was also injured, but he is listed in fair condition. The accident occurred near Hazelwood Drive and remains under investigation by the Carrabassett Valley Police Department. No fatalities were reported at the scene.

Accident with Car Fire in Chelmsford
On June 12, Massachusetts State Police received a report about a multi-vehicle accident involving injuries. The incident was reported to the department around 8:20 in the morning.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene quickly, and, upon arrival, they discovered that one of the cars involved in the crash had caught on fire as a result of the crash. Fire crews proceeded to put out the fire as EMTs administered medical care to the one individual who had been injured in the accident. The extent of the injuries is still under review. However, no fatalities were reported. The accident occurred on I-495 northbound in Chelmsford.

Authorities closed the right lane as the scene was cleared. The normal flow of traffic resumed within the hour.

Worker Dies After Falling Out of Tree
On June 11, police and emergency crews received a report of a workplace accident involving a worker falling from a tree. The accident occurred on Monday and was reported to Medway Police and Fire Communications Center through a 911 emergency call stating a man at 27 Broken Tree Road fell approximately 30 feet out of a tree.

Upon arrival, an ambulance transported Lewis P. Umbenhower III, 38, to Milford Regional Medical Center. He was pronounced dead while at the hospital. Preliminary investigations into the incident indicate Umbenhower was cutting a portion of a tree when he fell. The incident is under investigation by OSHA as well as local police. Umbenhower was an independent contractor.

Tractor-Trailer Accident on I-90
On June 12, a tractor-trailer accident caused traffic delays. The accident was reported to Massachusetts State Police around 6 in the morning. The accident occurred on I-90 in Palmer on the eastbound side of the freeway and involved one other vehicle.

Emergency crews including police and fire were dispatched to the scene and arrived quickly. They discovered that the accident was caused one individual to sustain injuries, and emergency medical care was administered at the scene. The extent of their injuries is still being determined. Police directed traffic away from the area, and, within the hour, the accident was cleared and traffic resumed as normal. There were no fatalities reported in this accident.
